FADE IN:
EXT. SWIMMING POOL - DAY
PETER in causal wear exits from the premises.
PETER (V.O.)
I've done my 1000M. Time
is tight today. Should I write
a blog post? Or prepare for
a hearing? I've to hand down
a domain-name decision soon.
INT. STUDY - DAY
Returning to his desk, Peter works on the computer.
PETER (Cont'd) (V.O.)
I've become addicted in
creativity. I must write the
the loving feeling that still
resonates in me.
We see Peter keying "I'll Remember You". He then selects a photo from his files and inserts it as a featured photo of a draft.
INT. DINNING ROOM - NIGHT
Food on the table. Peter's WIFE chats with their SON and DAUGHTER as Peter researches on a phone.
PETER
(Disturbed)
How come I can't find this
case online?
INT. STUDY - NIGHT
Lots of papers and files. After quickly clicking a blue "Publish Post" key, Peter picks up some papers to read.
INT. COURT ROOM - DAY
A WOMAN in black at the Bar submits to a JUDGE on the bench. Peter in a dark blue suit is at the Bar too, observing their exchanges.
PETER (V.O.)
The Judge wants to dispose
of her case first. What an
unexpected learning opportunity.
A Pause.
PETER (Cont'd) (V.O.)
She's quite good. But she shouldn't
fudge the issue.
Later.
JUDGE
(Solemnly)
... The application is dismissed.
INT. OFFICE CORRIDOR - DAY
Carrying a file, PETER chats with an ASSISTANT.
PETER
Our hearing ended late
because of other case.
ASSISTANT
(Respectfully)
That case was represented by a
Senior Government Counsel.
Peter looks enlightened.
PETER (V.O.)
I'm pleased I secured a case to
answer, discharging my role.
INT. TRAIN CAR - DAY
Crowded. Peter gets in after a young man. We see a vacant priority seat. The young man takes it. Peter looks away and finds a spot to stand.
PETER (V.O.)
I've never sit in a priority seat.
But after a hectic day, it's quite
tempting to break my rule. I
believe others won't disapprove
of it.
We see a train-car screen showing moving images and subtitles.
PETER (Cont'd) (V.O.)
That politician dies at the age
of 101? Comparing to him, I'm
still a junior.
Pausing.
PETER (Cont'd) (V.O.)
I was promoted to the rank of
Senior Crown Counsel in 1988.
That's 30 years ago. And now,
I'm just a senior junior at the
Bar. People I work with are
junior to me in many ways...
EXT. PEDESTRIAN WALKWAY - NIGHT
Rush hour.
PETER (V.O.)
Mingling with juniors make me
feel young. It's interesting to
hear their concerns that I used
to have. More importantly, I
can still deliver, competently.
As a senior junior, I can afford
to follow my heart. If there's
anything I don't like to do, I
just say "No." I'm no longer
a yes-man!
Peter walks through the crowd like he is the boss.
FADE OUT. The End
