FADE IN:
INT. RESTAURANT - DAY
Racecourse view. Peter, a LADY (60s) and a GENTLEMEN (60s) sit at a table. Peter interacts with them.
PETER
(To the Lady)
I sent you a message after
yesterday afternoon. Only
then would I be sure I could
do lunch today.
The lady looks bewildered.
PETER (Cont'd)
I treasure every opportunity
to learn on the job.
LADY
Haven't you learned everything
already?
The gentleman serves tea to the lady and Peter.
PETER
Well, I've to re-learn particularly
about the practice. Preferences
differ.
The lady nods.
LADY
When I am assigned something,
I'd do it well...but I won't please
unnecessarily.
Peter signifies understanding.
LADY (Cont'd)
But I paid a price for that. I
was overtaken by somebody.
The gentleman nods.
PETER
You made it in the end!
Dim sums are put on the table.
LADY
Recently, I've declined
a well-paid full-time job.
I've been wondering if
I've made the right decision.
Peter listens very attentively.
PETER
I've also reflected on my way ahead...
Peter looks seriously at the lady and then the gentleman.
PETER (Cont'd)
Pardon me to be frank and in
in saying so...We're getting
old, our time has become
more valuable!
The lady and the gentleman signify agreement.
PETER
What we do now must be
meaningful. Money is not
all.
LADY
Yes, we can't earn them all.
GENTLEMAN
My wife enjoys taking care of
the grandchildren.
Peter nods.
PETER
I enjoy helping lowlifes in need.
LADY
Would you turn your experience
into stories?
The gentleman helps Peter and the lady with barbecue pork buns.
PETER
Yes! I write short screenplays
saving the time to make
adaptations if short movies
are made. I hope my messages
are timeless.
Peter helps the lady and the gentleman with other dim sums.
INT. STUDY - DAY
Sitting in a small sofa, Peter watches TV. We hear a MAN (60s) in the screen saying: "I write to entertain." Peter is in thoughts.
PETER (V.O.)
I write to inform, explain and
enlighten... Yes, I've a good
time in writing. Writing entertains
myself, and hopefully my readers
too!
Peter surfs the web via his phone. He finds videos and plays them. Some of them include Peter's images.
PETER (V.O.)
My stuff are raw, but real...
They reflected my mood then.
...I had a great time in creating
them...All in past tense now...
INT - POOL ENTRANCE - NIGHT
A STAFF stations at gates for concessionary fees. Peter arrives and checks a wall clock which registers 9:10pm. He shows his identity card to the staff who does not think checking is necessary.
STAFF
The pool closes at 10.pm.
PETER
Yes, I know the time.
Passing through a gate with a smart card, Peter takes the escalator upstairs. A group of kids go the opposition direction.
PETER (V.O.)
When I was young, I thought I
had all the time in the world.
People are generally older than
me. And now...
We hear the playing of a background song: My Way.
FADE OUT. The End
