EXT. CROSS-BORDER COACH STATION - DAY

PETER and his WIFE (carrying a small baggage) arrive at the line with a sign (in Chinese characters) "To Macao." There're 8-10 PASSENGERS queuing.

PETER

It's 10:45. It seems that

not many people are

taking the 11:00 bus

even on a Sunday. We

should be able to sit

together, enjoying the

Hong Kong-Zhuhai-

Macao bridge ride!

Peter looks exited. He sees at the front of the queue a foreign couple - a Man (50s) and a WOMAN (50s).

PETER (V.O.)

They're adventurous!

As locals, this's our

first trip to Macao by

land transport.

EXT. ROAD-HONG KONG PORT - DAY

As the coach is about to enter the Hong Kong Port, the driver announces in Cantonese and then in Mandarin about passenger and cargo clearance, and where to get on board the coach again.

Later, passengers begin to alight. Peter sees the foreign couple hesitating.

PETER

(To the foreign couple)

After immigration clearance,

get on board the bus again

on the left hand side of the

building, at Station 12.

The foreign couple expresses thankfulness.

INT. MACAO PORT - DAY

Huge, anticipating the future demand. No lines and the clearance is swift. Passengers take escalators and make turns before exiting the building.

Peter's wife walks with the foreign couple to the coach. Having taken some photos, Peter catches up from behind. He hears the woman speaking to herself : "I just want to go back to Kowloon."

WIFE

She told me that she's

scary. They've to go the

Cruise Terminal in the

afternoon.

PETER

(Surprised)

Is that right?

WIFE

They thought they got

round-trip coach tickets.

I've checked that theirs

are single-trip tickets to

Macao.

PETER

They can buy the tickets

at the coach Terminus to

go back to Kowloon.

Having investigated with a STAFF who checks passenger tickets, Peter's wife and others board the coach again.

EXT. MACAO ROADS - DAY

Nothing spectacular.

PETER (V.O.)

Such would become the

foreign couple's experience of Macao.

WIFE

I've learned that tickets

are available for sale in

all the Macao coach stops.

PETER

As they've to hurry back,

let us get off at the first

stop in Macao and give

them a hand.

Peter's wife then goes and talks to the foreign couple. As the coach arrives at Hotel Sands, it stops. The coach clock displays "13:00" and passengers including the foreign couple, Peter and his wife get off.

EXT - SANDS HOTEL ENTRANCE - DAY

Peter, his wife and the foreign couple rush to investigate together. They see a sandwich-board with the coach schedule on it.

PETER & MAN

The next one is 13:20!

PETER

It has taken 2 hours to

arrive here and therefore

at least another 2 hours

to return.

MAN

(Thinking & to WOMAN)

We can still make it!

Peter and his wife find the ticketing office and the man buys the tickets by tendering a credit card. Peter and his wife then make enquiries with a TOUTER and checked the signs.

PETER

(To the foreign couple)

Just wait at where we

have just got off.

MAN

(To Peter)

Do we have to go through

the clearance procedures

again?

PETER

Yes, once on the Macao

side and another one on

the Hong Kong side. Just

like what we've gone

through.

The man nods.

PETER (V.O.)

All set for them now.

Peter checks his watch which displays 13:05. The man does not hesitate to shake hands with Peter and his wife.

MAN

Thank you both!

WOMAN

We wouldn't know

where we're going

without the help of

both of you.

PETER

Good luck!

Peter and his wife wave goodbye to them and walks towards a taxi stand.

INT. RESTAURANT - DAY

High-end. Enjoying the fresh fruit dessert with his wife, Peter checks his watch which registers 15:15.

PETER (V.O.)

They should be back

where they were within

minutes. Travel is an

adventure and it can

fill up our soul.

INT. PARISIAN CASINO - DAY

Peter and his wife loiter in the slot machine area.

PETER

We don't quite know

the rule of the game.

Let's us learn by trial

and error!

Peter inserts a HK$20 note into one with the phoenix icon. After some slot machine sound effects, Peter and his wife push a big button in turns but the sound responses are dull.

When Peter's wife pushes the machine for the fifth time, we see three phoenixes appearing in a V-shape in the first three vertical lines. Immediately, the slot machine has become a little crazy and generates celebrating bonus sounds. Looking at the winking slot machine, Peter and his wife are exhilarated.

PETER

I don't even know the

rule of the game...

WIFE

Let's cash the payback

and go!

They cannot keep their mouths shut as others stare at them.
