FADE IN:
INT. SITTING ROOM - NIGHT
A table clock displays 10:45. PETER begins his dinner, enjoying screen time as well.
PETER (V.O.)
A friend sent me this music
video. It's a sweet tune. Let
me discern its structure.
Peter listens very carefully as his WIFE joins him for dinner.
EXT. CAR - DAY
Sitting at the driver seat waiting, Peter researches with his phone.
PETER (V.O.)
Oh, here I see something
interesting. I had a hunch
my draft could be better!
As Peter's wife getting inside the car, Peter drives away.
INT. STUDY - DAY
Relaxing on a sofa, Peter has his eyes glued to his phone.
PETER (V.O.)
That's a complicated issue.
Let me deal with it only at
a later stage. It's another
big task. I aim to accomplish
my main task today around tea
time.
Peter returns to his computer desk and begins to type.
A table clock displays 13:30.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd)
I can only finish my first
task now. It's mainly
factual.
Peter clicks the SEND key.
A beat.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd)
Okay, I've done the second
one. The contents are
somewhat pre-determined.
The table clock displays 15:00. Peter's phone rings.
CALLER#1
(From phone)
Hi Peter, you haven't been
responsive.
PETER
Oh, sorry, I've been focusing
on drafting something.
CALLER#1
(From phone)
Call me back then. I've to settle something with you before the
middle of next week. You may
also call me on Saturday...
PETER
Oh, I've to appear in court
from Tuesday to Thursday
next week...
CALLER#1
Let me jot you a few lines
then.
PETER
Thank you very much!
Call ends. Peter refocuses on his work.
The table clock displays 15:15.
PETER (V.O.)
I love my punchy conclusion.
My last task is done!
Peter clicks the SEND key.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd)
I can go and have my
lunch now.
EXT. ROAD - DAY
Having checked a phone message, Peter types: "I'd do anything you ask me to for the good of the institution."
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd)
Because the activities
are meaningful.
Peter then sees a Thumb Up icon on his phone screen.
INT. RESTAURANT - DAY
A bowl of noodles and lemon water on his plate, Peter's phone rings.
CALLER#2
(From phone)
Thank you for sending
me your stuff. Let's
send them next Tuesday.
PETER (V.O.)
My self-imposed deadline
is today.
PETER
Let's do that on Monday,
as I'm not free from Tuesday
onwards.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd)
I still have the Saturday
afternoon and Sunday
to improve them.
Peter takes a big mouthful of food.
CALLER#2
They all look good.
Peter chews the slices of lemon and swallows them.
INT. STUDY - DAY
Peter tidies up a few things. A phone notification: "We'll send you the other stuff ASAP."
Peter types back: "No hurry, I've to speak and perform tomorrow morning and won't deal with your stuff now."
PETER (V.O.)
I need work-life balance.
Peter picks up a deep green electric guitar and plays.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd)
Oh my God, I couldn't
remember the lyrics that
I wrote! I couldn't play
the song's chords right
too!
Peter opens some store boxes and some guitar gig bags.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd)
I couldn't even find my
song sheets! It has been
a long time since I last
played.
Peter keeps on searching . He then opens a box file and examines the sheets inside.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd)
Oh, here're some of my
manuscripts. I couldn't
even remember some of
the numbers that I wrote.
Many of them haven't been
recorded yet. Creativity
is what I love!
Picking up some song sheets, Peter scans and sends them.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd)
Let me share my songs
with the young and bright
tomorrow morning!
Peter picks up a guitar nearby and begins to play. We hear sweet tunes.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd)
My songs are also structured.
Some of my tunes are very
sweet too!
FADE OUT. The End
