for me.

Pausing.

PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd)

Why I always look so happy

when performing in public?

FLASHBACK

EXT. HKU CAMPUS - DAY (EARLIER)

A reception. Peter arrives in suit with a guitar gig bag on his back. GENTLEMAN#1 and GENTLEMAN#2 greet him with smiling faces.

GENTLEMAN#1

Yes, Peter! That's the way

to lighten the mood!

Peter smiles.

GENTLEMAN#2

Just returned from your trip?

Peter nods and then opens the gig gag.

GENTLEMAN#1

Nice guitar! A new one?

Peter nods and lets Gentleman#1 try it. He makes a few dynamic strums.

A beat.

LADY#1 and LADY#2 approach Peter as he does a little singing with his guitar. While Lady#1 uses a smart phone to capture Peter's performance, lady#2 listens carefully.

PETER

(Singing)

...Do good for you and

me...

Lady#2 tries to follow in an appreciative fashion.

LADY#2

Nice!

PETER

I wrote the song!

Lady#2 looks shocked.

Peter lets Lady#1 and Lady#2 play the guitar in turns. Peter takes some photos.

PETER

A former boss was

retiring. We thought

of singing her a song.

Either we got copyright

clearance or we sang

a song out of copyright.

In the end, I committed

to writing a little song

myself.

Peter grabs his guitar and shows the audience a book.

PETER (Cont'd)

Only I can read my

song sheets. And let

me sing my first

composition, called

"So Long, Yvonne"

Peter sings. We hear guitar fingering and lyrics in English, Putonghua and Cantonese, and the ending: "So Long, Yvonne...".

A round of applause.

END FLASHBACK

PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd)

Last time, I sang the song

for Yvonne. This time, I

sang the song to showcase

IP's function in protecting

creativity.

Peter changes stations.

PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd)

Yes, I did have the courage

try. It was my first public

performance at HKU - the

Moot Court! Creativity is

in us.

Peter takes a deep look of the images.

PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd)

Yes, I've also got a sense

of my unique being, in

particular, my intellectual

satisfaction.

Pausing.

PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd)

With the flourishing feel,

I looked so different - my

emotions were inside out!

Peter picks a few photos depicting Lady#1 with his guitar and types: "Let's do some cross copyright licensing" and hits the "SEND" key.
