FADE IN:
INT. STUDY - DAY
Working on his phone, Peter stops.
PETER (V.O.)
I've to speak on IP in an
hour or so.
Looking at the his phone.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd)
My answer to a political
question attracts one
view per minute. My IP
answers? A few in few
hours.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd)
Should I bring my guitar?
No speaker would bring
a guitar to a conference.
...I can bring and won't
use it. See how my mood
goes.
Peter grabs an acoustic guitar and leaves.
INT. LECTURE THEATRE - DAY
Quite full. SPEAKERS speak. Peter sits in the front row, listening.
PETER (V.O.)
In my 20s, I tried to be
academic and liked to
mine fine differences.
Now, I've become very
practical and want
actions and outcomes.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd)
Let me first sing to
cheer myself and
everybody up before
I share my vision and
mission as to what
we can do in the
Greater Bay Area.
Sighing.
. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd)
It's ironic. Protesters
outside are destroying
Hong Kong.
A MODERATOR (30) introduces Peter.
Grabbing his guitar, Peter goes up the stage. After a brief introduction, Peter sings his song: Do Good For You & Me.
Some count the beats for Peter. A round of applause.
PETER
I just want you all to
consider how I, and
other creative people,
can make money with
the results of their
intellectual effort.
Conference ends. Some LADIES and GENTLEMEN came up to Peter to engage him.
INT. DINNER RECEPTION - NIGHT
Eight round tables of GUESTS. A HOST (60) suggests: Let's ask Peter to teach us to sing his song.
Peter takes center stage:The lyrics are:"..Let's get together, ...Laughter makes us better...Sing for love and peace...Do good for you and me!"
Having played the introductory guitar riffs, Peter leads the singing. Some follow Peter and some lip-sing.
PETER
...Do good for you and me.
Do good for you and me!
Happy faces. A round of applause.
PETER (V.O.)
Singing is action, impacting
on our emotions and mood
right away.
Peter looks happy too.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd)
I made the right decision
to bring the guitar. Or my
engagement would be
boring.
INT. MTR STATION - NIGHT
Peter stops in front of an advertising poster. We see a guitarist in a monk's outfit.
PETER (V.O.)
I don't know him, but
the fusion makes a
difference. We've
something in common.
Peter takes a selfie, incidentally including some parts of the poster.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd)
I'm not just a Singer-
Song Writer, but also
a Singer-Song Speaker.
Let me maintain my
unique style!
Peter exits with a smile.
FADE OUT. The End
