FADE IN:
INT. CLUBHOUSE - DAY
Newspapers in hand, PETER reads a story with inserts of a young woman and an old woman.
PETER (V.O.)
Oh, she's has died.
FLASHBACK
INT. ESTATE SITTING ROOM - DAY (1964).
Sitting on the floor is a group of CHILDREN including Peter (10). In the chairs surrounding them sit several WOMEN (30s). Their eyes are glued to the moving black-and-white images of a small TV set inside a cabinet.
PETER (V.O.)
That female actress
looks good.
Peter points at the TV screen.
PETER
What's her name?
We hear a woman's reply from behind.
WOMEN (O.S.)
Hep Burn...Why would
you want to know?
PETER
I gonna make her my
wife some day.
Laughter.
END FLASHBACK
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd)
It's funny that how come
I had that outburst. She
didn't need my rescue
or give her purpose.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd) I didn't become her fan.
I liked to watch Hollywood
movies in colour.
FLASHBACK
INT. CLASSROOM - DAY (1967)
Composition exercise book in hand, Peter (13) is doing corrections. A lady TEACHER (20s) is inspecting.
TEACHER
Peter, did your composition
base on the plot of My
Fair Lady?
Peter nods and smiles embarrassingly.
PETER (V.O.)
Oh, she detects the striking
similarity. But I really like
the movie, staring Audrey
Hepburn.
END FLASHBACK
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd)
But, whenever I watch her
on TV or read news about
her, my kiddy scene always
comes back to my mind.
Peter continues reading.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd)
How old was she?...She
was 81...16 years older
than me.
Peter compares the insert images.
PETER (V.O. (Cont'd)
How long does beauty
last? Growing old is a
privilege though.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd) How was her married?
The first one with two
children and the second
one with none.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd)
I have one with my first,
and three with my second.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd)
Funeral service will be
held of Aug 19?...Oh
that coincides with my late
wife's death anniversary.
Since 1992, mid-August
has always been a difficult
period for me.
Peter sighs.
INT. SITTING ROOM - DAY
Picking a newspaper on the table, Peter reads.
PETER (V.O.)
Oh, another story about
Hep Burn...
Peter reads the story.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd)
Oh, her original name
wasn't Hep Burn. It
was thought she looked
like Audrey Hepburn.
And so Hep Burn became
her trade name.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd)
It has never occurred to
to me that there're any
similarities between the
Hollywood star and the
Hong Kong star...
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd)
I love Audrey Hepburn's
"Roman Holidays".The
movie was shot in 1953,
a year before I was born.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd)
I also love her "Breakfast's
At Tiffany's", and of course
"My Fair Lady".
Peter surfs the web.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd)
Audrey Hepburn dies at
the age of 63...My late
wife at 36...And I'm 65
already.
Peter sighs.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd)
The Hepburns are just
images I sometimes
recall. But my forever-
young wife Sharon is
always in my heart.
FADE OUT. The End
