PETER works behind a computer. We hear a girl's indistinct scream and then a boy's shout. Peter turns to look at the table clock.
PETER (V.O.)
Yes, it's a few minutes
past 10 already.
More indistinct girl screams and louder the boy's shouts: Hong Kong people, free Hong Kong, revolution of our times...
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd)
When I first heard the
screams and shouts,
they're chilling.
INT. MENTAL HOSPITAL - DAY
A NURSE accompanies Peter (40s) and another GENTLEMAN (40s) to inspect patients in confinement. Before they reach a safe room, they can hear a woman's screaming from it.
NURSE
We put her inside a
safe room to protect
her.
Peter peeps inside through a small door window.
PETER
Does she always scream
like that?
The nurse nods.
END FLASHBACK
Then we hear other loud shouts. .
PETER (V.O.)
What's that? I haven't
heard that those shouts
before.
Peter goes and opens a window to hear the shouts.
PETER (V.O.)
Oh, angry.four-letter
word in response to
the screams and shouts.
We just hear repeated foul languages but no more screams and shouts. Silence.
PETER (V.O.)
Okay, enough is enough.
People break their silence.
FLASHBACK
INT. CINEMA -DAY (1969)
Colour movie, rock and roll sounds. Peter (15) is watching a documentary movie.
Having sung their number "She Loves You", the Beatles continues to sing another song: "Twist and Shout". As they shout, the girls scream.
Peter looks mesmerized.

That's still one of my

The screams and shouts
now are so distasteful
and annoying.
Ding! A What's App notification. Peter see's a video clip icon and taps it. We see a large crowd waving Chinese flags and hear the singing of the Chinese national anthem.

A crowd has broken their
silence at IFC during lunch
time...
A beat.
Using his phone, Peter checks Hong Kong news update.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd)
The news has been
reported, but there's
a sequel to that - the battle of songs.
We see on Peter's phone screen a short episode of masked people singing something.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd)
I've put aside my guitar
for weeks. I should aim
to write a song that would
make people scream and
shout in a positive way!
