FADE IN.
INT. SITTING ROOM - NIGHT
PETER is talking to his WIFE.
PETER
Where do you want to
go during our stay in
London?
WIFE
Camden Town.
PETER
(Surprise)
Camden Town? I lived
there 1986-1987.
MONTAGE OF PETER'S LIVING EXPERIENCE AT CAMDEN (1986-1987)
1. Getting off from the Camden Town tube station, Peter (32) walks in the easterly direction, passing a few gypsies before arriving Ifor Evans Hall.
2. Peter gets inside a small room with a single bed, a small window, a small desk, a chair and a small basin.
3. Peter studies and types with an electronic typewriter.
4. Having had breakfast in the Hall canteen, Peter gets a packed sandwich in lieu of dinner from a counter.
5. In a nearby Chinese takeaway called Swallow, Peter orders Chinese fried rice at a counter.
6. Inside a KFC at Camden Market, Peter does his order,
END MONTAGE.
EXT. CAMDEN TOWN - DAY (SUNDAY SEPT 15, 2019)
Peter, wife and DAUGHTER come out from the Camden Town Tube station.
PETER
(Excited)
It has been a long time.
Walking past a couple of shops. Peter sees KFC in a distance.
PETER
(Pointing at KFC)
It's still there. I used
to buy my fried chicken
set here on Sundays.
It can stand the test of
time.
FLASHBACK
INT. HALL ROOM - DAY (Winter 1986)
A KFC box by his side, Peter enjoys the fried chicken and then licks his fingers
END FLASHBACK
PETER (V.O.)
As a cold Sunday brunch,
it was heaven on earth!
The party does window shopping around the town stalls - offering a great variety of merchandise that appeal to customers' senses.
PETER (V.O.)
I didn't know Camden has
so much to offer. Are they
new?
Peter sees a Coat of Arms with year "1854" on the shield.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd)
Oh, I missed that when I
lived here. My purpose of
staying in London was to
further my law studies, not
for leisure or shopping.
PETER
Camden is probably the
largest retail market that
we've ever been!
Peter sees his wife's nodding head.
EXT. LOCKSIDE CAMDEN - DAY
Coming out from the Bar, Peter talks to his wife.
PETER
Should we go to my
former Hall to have a
look?
WIFE
Anything better than
seeing the canals here?
PETER
No, it's in the opposite
direction too.
FLASHBACK
EXT. CAMDEN ROAD - DAY (December, 1986)
Pulling a big baggage, Peter (32) leads WIFE SHARON (31) walking towards Ifor Evans Hall.
PETER
The baggage is big.
SHARON
(Happily)
This's an extendable
and light-weighted one.
I want to bring as much
supply to you as possible.
Happily, they walk on.
END FLASHBACK
PETER (V.O.)
How would I know
Sharon would die in
1992? She's in me
only.
PETER
Let's go and see
the canals.
The party walks along canals and observes people living in boats moored by them.
PETER (V.O.)
When I lived here, I
never walked here,
as it was further away
from my Hall.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd) The canals have been
here for 200 years. And
the water still flows thru'
them.
After seeing a London Zoo sign, they exit the canal walk.
FADE OUT.
