FADE IN.
INT. STUDY - DAY
PETER is watching TV news. We see on the screen a map of the Turkey and Syria border with different shaded areas representing different occupying forces.
And then we see moving images of American armoured vehicles.
We hear: ...America is not giving Turkey the green light...It's in America's best interest...
PETER (V.O.)
Treat or trick for US'
allies?
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd)
For the anti -Turkey
terrorists, the original
US' support was a treat,
so that they'd fight against
ISIS.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd)
Having contained ISIS -
ie the American goal, it's
not in America's best
interest to carry on
supporting anti-Turkey
terrorists to fight for
their territories. US'
departure is a trick.
We hear the TV anchor reporting: ...people killed and many fled.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd)
That's the kind of state
of nature I'd worry about -
people in constant fear
of loss and violence.
FLASHBACK
INT. SITTING ROOM - DAY
Peter sees protesters marching to the US Consulate in Hong Kong, waving a sea of US flags.
END FLASHBACK
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd)
They're begging, not
knowing what to expect.
What's happening over
the Turkish and Syria
border, if they know
anything about politics,
should be revealing.
Checking his phone, Peter sees a video clip containing actions of people in black vandalizing a communal building.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd)
If others' have got
different views, these
black bandits would
actually damage their
property, and not just
posing threat - evil
tricks.
Peter then taps another video clip depicting a train car scene in which an adult angrily hits a teenager (15) in black who yells in Cantonese: Sorry! Sorry! It's very painful!
PETER (V.O.)
Looks like the incident
happened in Shenzhen.
The teenager might
not know the difference
between Shenzhen and
Hong Kong.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd)
Dressed in black, he
might have thought that
he'd be spoiled anywhere.
He must have asked for
a treat, and he got it.
INT. CLUBHOUSE - DAY
Peter is reading a newspaper. He is attracted by an insert of a close-up of SOMEBODY inside a correctional service vehicle and another insert of youngsters in black, surrounding the vehicle gesturing their support of the somebody inside.
PETER (V.O.)
That somebody who's
appealing against his
six-year jail term was
expressionless.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd)
He might be thinking
that those who follow
him will join him soon.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd)
How much do they know
about politics?
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd)
Even the sight of their
idol's imprisonment
doesn't ring a bell. They're
very stupid and would
have to learn the hard
way.
INT. SITTING ROOM - NIGHT
Peter is watching TV news. We hear someone reporting that: The students accuse the Vice-chancellor of caring more about damages to inanimate objects than them...
PETER
Inanimate objects are
more valuable than nuts!
They shouldn't trick to
get a treat!
FADE OUT. THE END
