Kaji: Bed Talks

FADE IN.

INT. SLEEPING ROOM - DAY

Cloudy. A little thunder. KAJI jumps up onto the bed and sees PETER having screen time.

Kaji walks close to Peter and tries to talk to him.

KAJI (V.O.)

(Agitated)

Peter, can't you hear

the threatening loud

noise? I'm frightened.

PETER

(Smiling at Kaji's pitiful look)

No worry, just small ones...

As Peter continues to type on his phone, Kaji comes closer to him and then lies down with her head on Peter's lap.

KAJI (V.O.)

I feel secure by your

side. You and I are perfect for each other.

Giving Kaji a look, Peter doesn't move the lower part of his body.

KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd) I I don't talk anymore.

Let me forget about

everything for a while.

Closing her eyes, Kaji dozes off.

INT. SLEEPING ROOM - NIGHT

Kaji jumps up onto the bed. Peter and the PACK LEADER are sleeping. She finds a spot between Peter's legs.

KAJI (V.O.)

I feel that the loud noises

are about to come again.

Here's a safe place for me.

Peter doesn't roll over.

KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd)

Peter feels my presence.

I'm her priceless pearl.

He wouldn't exchange

me for anything! My

sleep will be sweet.

Curling up in a nose-to-tail ball shape, Kaji sleeps. Lovely silence.

INT. SLEEPING ROOM - DAY

A little sunshine. Kaji jumps here and there in bed, checking Peter and the pack leader.

KAJI (V.O.)

Hey, Peter, morning has

broken! The loud noises

have come and gone. It's

safe to go outside now!

If you win the morning,

you win the day!

Peter wakes up, not wanting to get out of bed.

PETER

You want to go out. Is

that right?

KAJI (V.O)

Yes.

Grabbing his phone, Peter takes a photo of Kaji.

KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd)

Come on, I've been

waiting.

Peter makes an effort to get out of bed and walks towards the door.

KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd)

Yes, while you can do

your screen time in bed,

I won't do my morning

routines here.

When the door is open, Kaji can't wait to run out.
