FADE IN.
INT. HONG KONG AIRPORT - NIGHT
Getting off from an aircraft, PETER makes a call.
PETER (V.O.) A credit card center
staff called me twice
while I was in Japan.
I was using my new
credit card a lot there.
There's no need to
check if it was I who
was using it. Anyway...
Oh, call again during
office hours?
INT. SITTING ROOM - DAY
Peter is having a phone conversation.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd)
Oh, I haven't settled
my credit card payments?
Oh yes, I haven't done
my auto-pay arrangement
yet...I'll pay right away
by PPS.
Ending the call, Peter taps his phone screen again.
INT. STUDY - DAY
Peter turns on the TV but the screen remains dark.
PETER (V.O.)
It hasn't been working
I don't know what's
wrong - either my
first-generation flat-
screen TV is out of
order or there's
something wrong with
the cable service
delivery. Let me call
iCable to have someone
coming up to find out
the problem. I've tried
many times without
success.
Checking his phone diary, Peter looks for something.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd)
Where are my other
phones? I haven't
seen them for days.
Peter then finds a Nokia from a handbag and an iPhone 6 from a jacket pocket.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd)
I bought the Nokia
because it was a Nokia
and I wanted to learn
to use the Andriod
system. I seldom use
it though as the contents
I created aren't interoperable
with the iOS system.
Checking.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd)
Oh, they're still in
airplane mode.
After tapping the phone screens, Peter makes a call with the iPhone 6. And we hear: We can't connect your call as your phone is set to disable all out-going calls.
PETER (V.O.)
When did I do that?
I did tap a number of
icons in Settings to
try to activate a Sim
card - but without
success.., and that
last Nov.
Peter serves the web with a newer iPhone.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd)
Here is the step-by-
step approach to check
my phone and reset.
After tapping a few buttons, Peter looks frustrated. He then uses a pin to take out its Sim card and then reinserts it again.
Then he taps the phone screen and we hear the same message again.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd)
(Frustrated)
Let me do one thing
at a time. Call iCable
first.
Peter uses his Nokia phone to call.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd)
How come my Nokia
phone works...
Remembering.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd)
I passed by its service
provider weeks ago
and bundled my
payments with my
new credit card...
After the phone conversation, Peter checks the Messages icon on the iPhone screen.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd)
Oh, there's one from
the service provider -
I haven't paid up the monthly fee...
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd)
Once the problem is
identified, it's easy to
resolve.
Peter then makes another call.
PETER
Okay, I'll come to one
of your branches and
settle that in person.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd)
It's all because I lost
my wallet and the
credit cards - another
sequel to my Cards
Story.
Reflecting.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd)
Einstein is right. No problem
can be resolved with the
same level of consciousness
that created it.
Peter uses a phone to take a photo of other phones.
