FADE IN.
Act 1
INT. STUDY - 8.15am
PETER is putting an iPad Mini inside his carrier bag.
PETER (V.O.): I'll have a marathon meeting today. Should I bring my swimming gear?
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I haven't swum in the Silverstrand Bay since the pandemic. I miss its two floating platforms.
Recalling.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): In the past, I had no worry walking 100+ steep steps.
Recalling.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): And it was very relaxing to lie on the floating platforms.
Peter puts his swimming brief and goggles inside the bag.
Act 2
INT. COUNCIL CHAMBERS, HKUST - 9:30am-4:00pm
LADIES and GENTLEMEN meet. Peter comments occasionally.
PETER (V.O.): I only speak when I've something to say.
Lunch is being served as the meeting continues.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The lengthy agenda is unprecedented.
The meeting ends.
EXT. ATRIUM, HKUST - LATER
Peter visits an exhibition casually.
PETER (V.O.): It's on art and culture.
Peter then steps inside an immersive sound booth.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Well, novel sound technology.
EXT. SILVERSTRAND - LATER
Car park. Leaving his jacket inside his car, Peter walks down to the bay.
PETER (V.O.): The beach is calling.
Peter takes the rather steep stairs cautiously.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): No knee pain yet. Good.
Then, the bay, the swimming area and two floating platforms are in sight.
Watching.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The environment is actually quite small, when compared to Golden Beach.
Having changed and deposited his belongings, Peter swims.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): It's so comfortable in the sea water.
Swimming.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Oh, my lower legs are burning with pain.
Recalling.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Yesterday evening at the pet garden, the thirsty and hungry mosquitos targeted my lower legs.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I just felt itchy all over my lower legs. Now, I can feel exactly the spots I was bitten.
Smiling.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Salt water is good for my wounds.
Climbing up a floating platform, Peter sees a few lying SWIMMERS enjoying the sun tan.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The floating feeling and the sea's smelling are also pleasurable.
Thinking.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Unlike long-lived happiness, all pleasure is momentary relief.
Thinking.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Have I learned subconsciously that swimming is a relief reinforcer?
Later, Peter climbs up the stairs to leave. He stops at times.
Act 3
INT. STUDY - NIGHT
Relaxing in a sofa, Peter is thinking.
PETER (V.O.): I don't play any video games as it wouldn't help my physique.
Pondering.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Is swimming the only sport, the rest eg football are just recreational games?
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Swimming is quite free, particularly in the sea. Games are always loaded with rules.
Thinking.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): That's why I feel life is cool when I swim in the sea after a long day.
FADE OUT.
THE END
