Act 1
INT. LIVING ROOM - 21:45
A warm glow from a lamp casts soft shadows. Sitting on a sofa, PETER fiddles with a bandage on his forehead.
PETER (V.O.): It's been exactly a month since I injured my forehead.
His WIFE enters, holding a small first-aid kit.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): From day one, my wife has been changing the bandages for me.
His wife approaches gently and carefully removes the bandage, revealing a healing forehead marked by a laceration scar.
WIFE: You know, I think it's time to let that bandage go.
Peter looks up with a smile.
PETER: Really? You think I'm ready?
As his wife nods, Peter checks his forehead in a nearby mirror.
PETER (V.O.): Oh, the laceration scar is clearly visible.
Act 2
INT. LIVING ROOM - CONTINUOUS
Peter touches his forehead lightly.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): It feels strange.
Pausing.
PETER: Since the accident at home, I've been avoiding every corner - here, there and everywhere.
His wife smiles lighty, sitting across from him.
PETER (V.O.): A month without swimming.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): But I've gained a lot this month, haven't I?
Peter gazes at his wife.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): My wife's care, more than I ever acknowledged.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): My wife is my anchor. The bond between us has become stronger.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): But I do miss the water a lot.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): My daily routines constitute my identity.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Without my daily swim, I feel like a stranger in my own body.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): In a few days, I'll be in the pool.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): And after our vacation in Niigata this July and August, I'll resume swimming in the sea.
INT. BATHBOOM - CONTINUOUS
Standing in front of a mirror, Peter runs his fingers over the scar on his forehead.
PETER (V.O.): It's just a scar, and I'm not young, but...
Peter gazes at his reflection again.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I can't let this define me.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Wearing a hat and some clever hair styling...
INT. BEDROOM - CONTINUOUS
Peter glances at a hanging cartoon of a woman carrying a man, his cheeks and forehead adorned with kiss marks.
PETER (V.O.): This cartoon was created by an artist from Montmartre, whom we commissioned. We posed as the models for the artwork.
As he gazes at the kiss mark on "his" forehead in the cartoon, Peter drifts into a daydream.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): A perfect way to either conceal the scar or celebrate our love would be to have my wife's real kiss mark placed over it.
Peter smiles mischievously.
Act 3
INT. LIVING ROOM - LATER
Peter uploads a cartoon image that humorously depicts him being carried by his wife to a draft on his laptop.
PETER (V.O.): My laceration scar resembles a fine hair just above the loving kiss mark on "my" forehead.
Thinking.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The expression of "I love you" is the bandages my wife changes for me without being asked.
Reflecting.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Anchored in love, we can face any challenge that life throws our way.
