  3. INT. SITTING ROOM - 8:35


  4. Smart phone in hand, PETER checks the event details of May 24, 2022.


  5. PETER (V.O.): Main events: Testing of my SMART car at 09.00 and professional work from 14:00.


  6. Checking his wallet, Peter examines the particulars of a car registration document.


  7. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Car aside, I must bring the right document too.


  8. Pausing.


  9. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I treasure today's car testing appointment. It's a re-arranged one.


  10. Pausing.


  11. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): If the car's overhaul was completed in time, it should have been tested last Saturday.


  12. Having selected one from a box of car keys, Peter goes to the door.


  13. Act 2


  14. INT. CAR TESTING CENTER - 08:55


  15. Picking up a travel magazine from a rack, Peter sits in a sofa.


  16. PETER (V.O.): I'm in time as there's no traffic jam on my way here.


  17. Having helped himself to a box of free soft drink in a nearby fridge, Peter begins to read.


  18. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I haven't done local hiking for a long time.


  19. Recalling.


  20. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): In summer 1971, my factory colleagues and I went climbed the hills from Tuen Mun to Lau Fau Shan.

  21. Recalling.


  22. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): During my matriculation days, I managed to join hiking from Tsuen Wan to Yuen Long, and in Lantau.


  23. Pausing.


  24. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): After getting my driving licence in 1976, I'd even drive up to Tai Mo Shan to have morning tea.


  25. Reading other stories, Peter sees artistic images by the sea.


  26. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Oh, I don't know about this Setouchi Triennale 2022. How nice it is to be the journalist covering it during pandemic times!


  27. Pausing.


  28. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): See if my wife and I can join the Setouchi Triennale 2025.


  29. A MECHANIC appears to pass Peter a roadworthy certificate.


  30. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I've spent a lot of money to make the car work. I like to think that I've been helping my car repairer to sustain his business and keep his staff.


  31. INT. BATHROOM - 10:30


  32. Peter is doing a Rapid Antigen Test.


  33. PETER (V.O.): To accompany my client to attend a screening interview, I need to do it. If I'm tested positive, I still have time to deal with the contingency.


  34. In the test device, Peter sees a red bar against the letter C.


  35. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Negative, as expected.


  36. INT. CAKE SHOP - 12:00


  37. Peter buys some chicken pies.


  38. PETER (V.O.): I love this cake shop as my elder daughter did her first part-time job here.


  39. SEQUENCE OF PETER'S OTHER DAY-IN-THE-LIFE ACTIVITIES


  40. A. Interview Room#1. Being assisted by INTERPRETER#1, Peter is briefing a CLIENT.


  41. B. Interview Room#2. In Peter's presence, his client is being interviewed by an OFFICER, assisted by INTERPRETER#2.


  42. C. Office. Peter exchanges greetings with STAFF#1 and #2 who are busy with their work.


  43. D. Megabox. Entrance. Taking an interest in an eco-umbrella dryer, Peter dries his umbrella before entering.


  44. E. Aeon stores. Sports section. While paying for a pair of goggles and a bicycle bump, Peter is warmly served by STAFF#3.


  45. F. MTR Exit. Peter buys a packet of mangoes from a friendly mobile HAWKER.

  46. END SEQUENCE


  47. INT. STUDY - 18:30


  48. Peter is watching a Science channel program: How the Universe works?


  49. PETER (V.O.): The universe has been evolving for 13.8 billion years, human forms for 200,000 years, and civilisation for 6000 years.


  50. Pausing.


  51. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I can only strive to do small things in my little way.


  52. Act 3


  53. INT. SITTING ROOM - 22:30


  54. Working behind a computer, Peter reads something.


  55. PETER (V.O.): Day in the life is a genre of storytelling. It narrates the activities of a character through the length of a day.


  56. Pausing.


  57. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The passage of time itself is the theme of the story.


  58. Peter inserts an image to a draft on screen.


  59. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Through compressed routine events, I explore the human condition and relationships.


  60. Pausing.


  61. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I write my day journal for life, distilling what's important and what's not.
