Act 1

PETER picks up a call.
PETER (To phone): To appear in court tomorrow morning?
SOMEONE (From phone): Yes, I know you've an interview appointment in the afternoon. You can make it!
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.): I've promised to drive my wife to work in the morning...
PETER: Okay then.
After ending the call, Peter types on his phone immediately.
PETER (V.O.): I feel guilty to break my promise.
Later, Peter checks his phone message and sees: No problem.
Act 2
INT. BEDROOM - KITCHEN - BEDROOM - 03:30
Waking up, Peter checks the time.
PETER (V.O.): OMG, I need a good sleep before my court appearance.
Peter drinks a cup of fresh milk before going back to bed.
DREAM SEQUENCE
A. Walking past a place, Peter sees colourful dogs that look like baby dinosaurs.
B. Peter hears that his brother will drive a car - the Leena model - to meet up with him.
C. Then, Peter sees the car design is like having a cart before a horse.
D. Later, inside Peter's small car, there's a relative-passenger mounting on the top like a spider man.
E. In a social gathering, Peter suddenly speaks in Hakka. To demonstrate his language capacity, he speaks "Czechoslovakia" in Hakka. He himself is astonished.
END DREAM SEQUENCE
Opening his eyes, Peter sees daylight.
PETER (V.O): What I've dreamt makes perfect sense before waking up. It's dream logic.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): But I'd query myself. I wake up to realize the nonsense.
Reflecting.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Several days ago, I did listen to a radio program teaching Hakka., And I did check the model of an electric car.
The family dog, KAJI, hops with force onto Peter's chest.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Yes, it's our breakfast time.
INT. SITTING ROOM - 08:00
Reading a thick book, Peter shares his breakfast with the obedient Kaji.
PETER (V.O.): Let me check how indictable offences cases are transferred to the District Court.
INT. INTERVIEW ROOM#1 - 9:30-10:20
Secured. Peter interviews CLIENT GROUP#1 with his ASSISTANT.
INT. INTERVIEW ROOM#2 - 10: 20-10:30
Not-secured. Peter interviews CLIENT GROUP#2 with his Assistant.
INT. COURT - 10:30-12:10
As Client Groups#1 and #2 appear in turns, Peter rises and submits to the Court in parallel.
INT. CORRIDOR - 12.15
Peter talks to his Assistant.
PETER: I didn't know the Court was concerned about the presence of our clients' parents in court.
ASSISTANT: Yes, the defendants are young teenagers.
INT. OFFICE - 12:30
Turning on his mobiles, Peter looks surprised.
PETER (V.O.): Oh, the client I meant to interview this afternoon has to be quarantined. My next appointment has to be postponed.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd):Oh, I'm already prepared to engage. Just hope that the rearrangement wouldn't cause any schedule clashes.
Act 3
INT. STUDY - AFTERNOON
Lying on a sofa, Peter is recalling something.
PETER (V.O.): It's sad to see young suspects being handcuffed in the cell.
Thinking.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): But they're suspected of having committed indictable offences and their cases are being transferred to the District Court.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Instead of resorting to violence, they should have focused on education and sports. Unlike lawyers, have early court experience isn't an edge in the right direction.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Putting the cart before the horse makes sense only in dream logic. I don't know if they've waken up.
Peter picks up a call.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Cold or cool?
FADE OUT.
THE END
