FADE IN.
Act 1
INT. SLEEPING ROOM - DAY
PETER wakes up, seeing KIJI, his pet, is still fast asleep by his side.
PETER (V.O.): I dreamt about doing an exam. I wasn't alert enough, didn't to have a proper pen and an answer book to write on. I must have performance anxiety.
FLASHBACK
INT. STUDY - DAY (YESTERDAY)
Sitting behind his computer, Peter uses devices to research.
PETER (V.O.): I was quite comfortable with my leisure writing. As the Korean "Parasite"' can get Oscar awards, I'd better take my screenplay writing more seriously.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Some of my social media links became obsolete - Blogger, Google+, and soon Facebook desktop App. My favourite wix.com's blogging support has become different. Let me refresh my websites and screenplay writing.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I want to document my moments and memories. Life is not as dramatic as fictional stories. But I enjoy the creative process - one meaning of life.
Act 2
INT. SITTING ROOM - NIGHT
Phone in hand, Peter is researching.
PETER (V.O.): In writing better screenplays, let me follow closely Blake Snyder's beat-sheet formula.
Surfing the web, Peter looks shocked.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Oh, he passed away in 2009 - years before I heard of his name and his seminal work: "Saving the Cat". I'm three years senior to him.
Looking at the images of a GENTLEMAN on screen, Peter sighs.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Life can be twisty and shifting His Beat Sheet is one of his legacy. I like how he explains the plot structure of successful stories told by Hollywood.
Thinking.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Let me follow the formula and write seriously scene by scene. See if a story so told would make a difference.
Reflecting.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): As many authors follow their hearts and won't follow any screenplay writing formula, there's always the need to adapt a good story into a screenplay before a film about the story is made.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Without a good screenplay, there won't be a good film.
Pondering.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): But one has to invest a lot of labour, skill and judgment in writing a screenplay.
Reflecting.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): But that's how screenplay writers and others can enjoy more the creativity, not to mention the films' impact on people's attitude and culture.
INT. STUDY - NIGHT
Working behind his computer, Peter has also had two iPhones, one iPadmini and a Nokia nearby.
PETER (V.O.): As I create every day with different messages, I've different websites. To update them all in a day or two is a lot of work. But now is the right time to get them done.
Checking the computer screen, the pages have become unresponsive.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): My computer is quite old too.
Peter presses Ctrl+Alt+Delete again and again, Peter also picks up a guitar nearby and strikes a few strums.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): It seems that my computer finds it too tiring to attend to so many instructions.
A table clock indicates 00:45. Peter leaves his seat.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I just let my computer work it out overnight if it isn't striking at all.
END FLASHBACK
Act 3
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): It seems that my mind has been with my computer too. That's why I had the stressful dream.
Reflecting.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): But I wake up alright! Let me and my computer press on.
It's another morning for Kaji too.
INT. STUDY - DAY
Working busily before his computer, Peter looks pleased.
PETER (V.O.): I've done what I want to do. I'm now prepared to do better than before!
FADE OUT.
THE END.
