  1. Act 1

  2. INT. BEDROOM - 19:47

  3. A modest room. PETER lies on top of the duvert, still in his casual wear - a rumpled button-down shirt and dark jeans. Beside him sits a cushion with a bespectacled cartoon face and the Chinese characters 老公.

  4. His reading glasses are perched crookedly on his nose, slipping towards the edge. His smartphone rests in his open palm. The phone screen is still illuminated, displaying a research result: "BTS THE COMEBACK LIVE I ARIRANG" special concert at Gwanghwamum Square in Central Seoul, scheduled for 8 pm, Saturday, March 21, 2026 KST (that's 7 PM HKT)

  5. The bedroom door is open.

  6. WIFE: Dinner is ready.

  7. Peter's body jerks. His eyes snap open.

  8. PETER: Oh...yes...

  9. He looks at the phone: 19:47. He pushes himself up. He stands, straightens his shirt, and runs a hand through his silver hair. He leaves the room at once.

  10. Act 2

  11. INT. DINNING ROOM - CONTINUOUS

  12. Peter walks into the room. The table is set for two. His wife is seated, a cup of tea in her hands. She looks up as he enters. He slides into his seat.

  13. His wife gestures to her clean plate with a small, satisfied nod. Peter looks at the food on the plates.

  14. WIFE: I ate mine at its peak.

  15. Peter looks perplexed.

  16. WIFE (Cont'd): They're all yours.

  17. PETER: That wasn't your first call when I responded. How many times did you call?

  18. WIFE: I called you four times. You're asleep.

  19. PETER: Four?

  20. PETER (V.O.): It's not like me.

  21. Peter is silent, staring at the food.

  22. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I'm always on alert. What happened today?

  23. Pausing.

  24. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I finished everything. I did the last thing before I returned home this evening.

  25. Peter picks up his chopsticks.

  26. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Family. Friendly helps. Professional. It's all been stacked, For years and months. And today...it all got done.

  27. He lets out a short, disbelieving laugh.

  28. PETER: Thank you.

  29. On the TV screen, Netflix's live broadcast fills the frame: the sweeping aerial shot of Gwanghwamum Square in Central Seoul at night.

  30. WIFE: Thousands upon thousands of fans fill the closed thoroughfare.

  31. PETER: There must be lots of traffic diversons.

  32. The camera cuts to a wide shot of the stage - seven young MEN in black singing on stage.

  33. PETER (V.O.): The roar of the crowd becomes a physical force, even through TV speakers.

  34. Peter eats quickly, as if he hasn't eaten all day.

  35. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I'm fascinated by the logistics, the machinery and the coordination.

  36. Pausing.

  37. PETER (Cont'd): But how can the city government justify its road closures for a private concert?

  38. They watch the live broadcast together. Soon, the concert ends at 8 pm HKT.

  39. WIFE: Just an hour?

  40. PETER: It's primarily a free concert.

  41. PETER (V.O.): I've just watched it for a few minutes.

  42. Pausing.

  43. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I didn't decide to sleep. My body made the decision for me mid-research.

  44. Watching the end credits.

  45. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Completion isn't the end. It's the door swinging shut behind me, and my legs finally remembering they're tired.

  46. Pausing.

  47. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): My wife's first three calls were for me. The fourth was for her - to say: I've done my part. Come when you can.

  48. Pausing.

  49. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Exhaustion isn't always felt before it arrives - and that sometimes the body must override the will in order to survive.

  50. Pausing.

  51. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The question is whether the people around me - and me myself - will let that stopping be a rest, rather than a collapse.

  52. Act 3

  53. INT. LIVING ROOM - 22:30

  54. Peter uploads an image of a cartoon face with glasses and hearts embroidered above the Chinese characters for "husband" on white fabric to a draft on his laptop.

  55. PETER (V.O.): I kept three lives in balance - family, friendliness, professionalism - all supported by one spine. In the end, something had to give. It's me.

  56. Thinking.

  57. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The pressure had a shape: execution, favour, arguments. And when the last shape dissolved, I did too - into the soft geography of sleep.

  58. Reflecting.

  59. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Four calls and a nap. That was the day I stopped being the one who handled everything and became the one who was handled - gently, by someone who knew how.

  60. The END

  61. FADE OUT
