From Dim Sum to Pizza

  1. FADE IN

  2. Act 1

  3. INT. RESTAURANT - 11:30

  4. PETER, HIS WIFE, elder SON and younger DAUGHTER sit around a table filled with dim sums.

  5. PETER (to son): We need to come up with good stories from your growing up years if you're to share them with others about you.

  6. SON: Yes, it's good for others to know who and what have shaped me.

  7. WIFE (checking a WhatsApp message): Oh, our younger son and his girlfriend have already boarded the flight back to Hong Kong.

  8. PETER: Great! They've been away for many months. We'll pick them up at the Airport this evening.

  9. Having brainstormed for awhile, they've their narratives.

  10. PETER (to son): Since you haven't got a car this morning, I'll drop you off at your office. And I'll coach your sister on driving afterwards.

  11. SON & DAUGHTER: That works.

  12. Son grabs the bill and pays at the cashier.

  13. Act 2

  14. EXT. ROADS TO SHEK O & STANLEY - 14:30

  15. Sitting in the passenger seat of a Toyota Previa, Peter monitors his younger daughter driving.

  16. PETER: ...Slow down...Oh...too close to the kerb...

  17. Peter steps on the car mat and attempts to intervene the wheel.

  18. PETER (Cont'd): ...Safety is top priority...

  19. Repeating

  20. .

  21. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Check the road signs ahead.

  22. His duaghter continues driving.

  23. PETER (Cont'd): Turn right onto Wong Ma Kok Road.

  24. Peter checks the scenes.

  25. PETER (Cont'd): ...on the left is St Stephen's College where your brother studied.

  26. Pausing.

  27. EXT. ST STEPHEN'S BEACH - 15:30

  28. Metered car park. Peter takes the driver seat and parks the car.

  29. PETER: You've to learn how to pay at the meter.

  30. Having paid, they walk to the beach.

  31. PETER: We've a short break here.

  32. Soon, we see Peter swimming towards the floating platform of the swimming area.


  34. Peter's daughter is driving. We hear some squeaking sounds

  35. DAUGHTER: Opps!

  36. PETER (Cont'd): You drive too close to the kerb again...

  37. Later, as they pass a gate at the Aberdeen Tunnel, they see a red light.

  38. DAUGHTER: Do I have to worry about that?

  39. PETER: No, drive on.

  40. PETER (V.O.): I've already subscribed to the HKeToll...

  41. EXT. ESTATE ROAD - 17:00

  42. Arriving, they see Peter's wife and Kaji, the family pet, waiting for them.

  43. PETER (V.O.): I'm so focused on the coaching that I've forgotten about our other scheduled activities.

  44. WIFE: Let's go to the promenade and then to the pet grooming salon.

  45. EXT. ROADSIDE - 19:30

  46. While waiting in the car, Peter does some research on his smartphone.

  47. PETER (V.O.): Oh, we didn't pay the Aberdeen tunnel fee, as the HKeToll doesn't cover that yet!

  48. Pausing.

  49. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Should I dwell on that?

  50. Pausing.

  51. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): No, it's already a blessing that there weren't serious traffic incidents today.

  52. Act 3

  53. INT. DINING ROOM - 20:15

  54. Peter, his wife and younger daughter are having their pizza dinner.

  55. PETER (V.O.): While my family's day can be quite diverse and dynamic, we prioritize family togetherness.

  56. Peter takes a look of an AI drawing on his smartphone screen.

  57. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): It's called "From Dim Sum to Pizza", reflecting a day in the life of my family. We embrace imperfections and find gratitude in the present.

  59. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): To strengthen our bonds, my family members cherish the smaller moments in everyday life. We'll pick up our elder son and his girlfriend at the Airport soon.
