FADE IN.
Act 1
INT. SLEEPING ROOM - MORNING
PETER wakes up.
PETER (V.O): I've slept well. Good omen in the New Year.
INT. KITCHEN - DAY
Peter takes a small CD audio set inside.
PETER (V.O.): For the past few weeks, I've fixed two hifi sets. I believe they're like characters in Toy Story. Now, I want my unused second kitchen musical as well.
Putting the audio set near a table, Peter plays a CD and we hear oldies. Peter also re-sets the clock.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): So I've done my first new thing in the New Year.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): What I used to do on New Year day is to make a new music video that I can share with fans from Day 1 of the year.
Act 2
INT. STUDIO - LATER
Holding his cell phone microphone close to his iPad Mini, Peter is re-recording a song.
PETER (V.O.): The original recording was raw and real. The visuals aren't bad too. But I'd like to have new visuals for the 2021 edition.
Peter then checks his video clips in his iPad Mini.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I've shot all my video clips with it. After Feb 2020, I've only captured local sights.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): For each past year, there's the paradox of choices. This year, no such a problem.
Peter inserts and edits his selected video clips.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Editing the video clips including their original sound recordings to match with the audio requires skill and judgment.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): When that's done, I insert the subtitles of the song.
Peter checks the fonts available in the iMovie App.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): Oh, there're some new features. I haven't used it for almost a year now.
After typing some English and Chinese texts, Peter reviews them.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Okay, almost done. The next step is to export the file and upload it to one of my YouTube channels.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): I've many channels as I wasn't sure which brand name would be more user-friendly.
Having done the steps, Peter checks his music video repertoire.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): Oh, in March last year, I wrote and published a music video celebrating the International Women's Day.
Reflecting.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): As the composer and producer, I've forgotten about it in less than a year.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): How would others remember my music videos?
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): Most of my works are festive songs. They're only relevant a day in a year.
Peter sees phone notifications.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Many New Year Greetings from friends...
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Years ago, I wrote a song celebrating the New Year. I love it. Those responded felt it good too.
Peter surfs the web, searching for videos.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Yes, that's my song: Very Good Wishes! Done in 2018.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): To watch a music video once in a year shouldn't be too boring, I believe.
Peter replies to notifications by attaching the music video link.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): After all, my very good wishes remain the same.
Act 3
INT. SITTING ROOM - LATER
Inserting a DVD inside a player, Peter plays it.
PETER (V.O.): I've watched the James Bond film You Only Live Twice many times, but I still have the urge to re-watch it.
Watching.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): It was good to see scenes of old Hong Kong and old Japan.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Now, my perspective, as a screenplay writer, is different.
Beat.
As the film ends, Peter plays another DVD,
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I've watched Johnny English Reborn before. But I've forgotten the story.
As he watches the film, we hear Peter laughing at times.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The plot of the film seems new to me.
Peter is distracted by phone messages.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Still, some great feedback to my old Very Good Wishes!
Reflecting.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd):(Cont'd): Playing and watching my oldies shouldn't be bad. Happy New Year to all!
INT. SLEEPING ROOM.
Peter goes to bed.
PETER (V.O.): I'd sleep well again.
