PETER sees his WIFE off to work.
PETER (V.O.): It's Friday. Take care.
INT. STUDY - 09:30
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I'd better make the most of the last stock trading day of the week - no weekend trading.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I won't do any pre-market bids. It's a quite a waste of time as the market is volatile.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Weeks ago, I bought my last lot of Alibaba shares at $132 at a pre-market auction.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I'll discern the market trend when the market opens. Then, I decide my day's investment strategy.
Act 2
INT. STUDY - 10:00
Having checked his Watchlist and compared some charts on his smartphone screen, Peter types on it.
PETER (V.O.): As I'm not buying at the real-time asking price, the fun part is to find out if and when there're also willing sellers who would accept my offers.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I've now learned that patience is the key. In any bargaining, the one who can't wait has less bargaining power.
EXT. CLUB SWIMMING POOL - 11:30
Quiet. Peter is the lone swimmer.
PETER (V.O.): Now is late October. Due to the pandemic, the swimming pools and beaches only reopened in early May this year.
Swimming.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I remember that well as I've waited for their reopening since Spring 2020.
Swimming.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Before that, I could only jog in the park, and I got knee pain.
Swimming.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I exercised my mind though. I answered many questions in Quora.
Swimming.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): For the past weeks, I've become somewhat addicted to buying stocks.
Later, inside the bathroom, Peter checks his smartphone.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Oh, none of my orders have been fulfilled.
INT. STUDY - 12:30
PETER (V.O.): I've to re-strategize or I won't be able to enrich my stock portfolio programmatically.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I've waited for 67 years for what I believe is the right time for me to invest in stocks.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): In a bear market, whatever stocks I'll buy in Hong Kong won't be too expensive.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Let me amend my offers to meet the last asking price of the stocks that I want to buy.
Peter types on his smartphone.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I expect to hear notification sounds in a few seconds.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): No messages?
Peter checks his phone orders.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Oh, they're pending execution - the prices have already risen as I typed. As the prices may fluctuate again, I'll wait meanwhile.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): If my orders are still pending when the market is about to close, I'll amend the prices of my orders faster.
It's 15:45. Peter is typing on his phone frantically. We hear some notification sounds. Later, his phone rings and Peter takes the call.
PETER (To phone): ...A court hearing coming Monday morning? Okay, I'll take it.
PETER (V.O.): I don't expect that at all. It's good for me: Have a break, have a court appearance.
Act 3
INT. SITTING ROOM - 20:00
Peter's wife is home.
PETER: Welcome back!
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.): Office workers wait for all week for Friday. We all want some work-life balance.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Now, my wife and I can also share stock-investing experience and insight.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Going places, I'll observe closely companies' capacity for growth.
Peter smiles.
