Act 1

INT. SITTING ROOM - DAY

KAJI sees PETER taking a banana from the table before sitting on a sofa.

KAJI (V.O.): Great!

Licking her lips, Kaji joins Peter by his side.

KAJI (V.O.)(Cont'd): The banana seems to be smiling at me.

Kaji focuses on Peter's banana.

KAJI (V.O.)(Cont'd): I know Peter'd share his banana with me.

Peter gives Kaji a bit of the banana.

KAJI (V.O.)(Cont'd): Yes, more please.

Kaji eats it as she stares at Peter.

KAJI (V.O.)(Cont'd): Let's never split.

Act 2

NT. SITTING ROOM - CONTINUOUS

Peter and the PACK LEADER are watching TV.

PETER: Smuggling dogs to Mainland China?

Kaji sees images of dogs in crates on TV, and we hear: They've Hong Kong registration microchips. Their owners in Mainland China want to reunite with them.

PACK LEADER: Oh dear!

KAJi (V.O.): I can smell no scent. But I can see from the cues of Peter and the pack leader that there's something wrong with them.

PETER: If there's evidence of the owners' involvement in the smuggling, they'll be prosecuted.

PACK LEADER: What if they don't surface to reclaim them...Oh dear!

KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Oh, I can tell from their cues that those dogs in crates are in great trouble.

Pausing.

KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): I've never been inside a crate before.

Pausing.

KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): I can imagine how terrible it'd be - just all by myself, strangers and stuff around me, without food and drinks.

Pausing.

KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): There's only fear...

Pausing.

KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Their pain and suffering have put me in distress too.

Pausing.

KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Even my tight-curled tail will tuck.

Act 3

INT. SITTING ROOM - CONTINUOUS

Thinking.

KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Before we saw those poor dogs on TV, Peter and I had shared a banana.

Pondering.

KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Has our banana sharing caused those dogs in distress?

Kaji sees the pack leader finishing the last banana on the table.

KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): She ate it all by herself and wouldn't share it with me.

Kaji sees no pets on TV again.

KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): And then those poor dogs on TV disappear...

Pausing.

KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Hmm, I'm not stupid. I see the cause and effect.

Pausing.

KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): But can I desist having bananas with Peter? That's my bottom line.

Pondering.

KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): But it can't beat our top priority though. I'll be their smile and we'll never split.
