Kaji: "Ching Ching"

FADE IN.

Act 1

INT. DINING ROOM - NIGHT

Food on the table, KAJI sits between the PACK LEADER and a GANG MEMBER at the dining table.

KAJI (V.O.): I'm not allowed to sit with Peter - a new routine.

Kaji sees the Gang Member putting some treats near her.

KAJI (V.O.) (COTINOUS): She's shown me the treats. But I've to wait.

KAJI focuses intensely on the treats.

KAJI (V.O.) (COTINOUS): I hope I won't have to wait too long.

Sitting away from Kaji, PETER pleas.

PETER: Give her some...

Act 2

INT. DINING ROOM - CONTINOUS

Hearing Peter's plea, the Pack Leader and the Gang Member focus on Kaji.

GANG MEMBER: Only after you've done "Ching Ching" properly.

PACK LEADER: Yes.

KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): "Ching Ching" is quite new to me.

Picking a treat on the table, the Gang Member shows it parallel to Kaji's nose and then above her head.

KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): I've to stand up to grab it...I daren't jump on my the chair...

Standing up on hind legs, Kaji grabs with her forearms.

GANG MEMBER: Not on my forearm...

KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): How about the pack leader's?

Kaji's reaches out for the pack leader's shoulder.

PACK LEADER: No...

KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Is that right? Peter's far away...

Standing with her forearms hanging in the air, Kaji is just a bit away from the treat above her head.

PACK LEADER & GANG MEMBER (Laughing): That's it! That's "Ching Ching"!

PETER (Smiling): Well done! Good girl!

The Gang Member lets Kaji have her treat.

KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Despite the praising, it isn't easy to get my reward at all!

Pausing.

PETER: Repeat the process...

KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Do it again? So quick? Can I make it?

Act 3

INT. DINING ROOM - CONTINOUS

Picking a treat on the table, the Gang Member shows it to Kaji again.

GANG MEMBER: "Ching Ching!"

KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Got it. Practise my new skill again.

Balancing herself, Kaji stands up with her hands in the air. She gets her reward, pretty quickly this time. All smile.

PETER: Well done again!

KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Yes, I've made it, again

Pausing.

KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Practising this new skill is better than watching them eating.

Kaji focuses on the remaining treat on the table.
