Kaji: So Green

FADE IN.

Act 1

EXT. ROAD - DAY

The rain stops. Leading a GANG MEMBER, KAJI runs along a road near the pet garden.

KAJI (V.O.): I can't wait! I felt so bored at home. It's been a fortnight since I haven't been out and about.

Kaji runs past the entrance.

KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Oh, has my garden moved?

Kaji turns around and runs back to the entrance again, as PETER watches them nearby.

KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Here it is!

EXT. ROAD - DAY

After Peter's opening the gates one after another, they're inside the garden. Kaji is unleashed.

KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Great! I'm free.

Kaji jumps and runs on the grass.

KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): The grass is wet and very comfortable, particularly on a summer's day.

After some close inspection, Kaji kicks the grass.

KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Every blade of it is strong and the grass is so green.

ACT 2

EXT. PET GARDEN - CONTINUOUS

Kaji takes one step and then another step.

KAJI (V.O.)(Cont'd): It's great that I'm barefooted and can feel the green grass.

Kaji looks happy.

KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): The grass grows of its own accord. It puts its roots deep down in one piece and I can't kick any out.

Pausing.

KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Let me give my leg muscles a good message against the firm green grass.

Pausing.

KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): When the rain falls on the roads, the roads just get wet. But when it falls on the grass, it makes the grass green and soothing.

Pondering.

KAJI (V.O.)(Cont'd): The green grass looks like the smiles of nature to me.

Pausing.

KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): It's like a green-carpet net, catching soul and soothing my heart.

Pausing.

KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): It's the little green grass that makes this garden great. I see and feel harmony.

Kaji looks around.

KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): But none of my friends are here.

Pausing.

KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Never mind, I don't have to do what everybody is doing or not doing.

Pausing.

KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): No one is ever truly alone.

Act 3

EXT. PET GARDEN - CONTINUOUS

Thinking.

KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Being happy doesn't mean that everything has to be perfect.

Kaji looks at Peter.

KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Falling in love with the green grass here, it's good enough for me, especially when Peter is around.

Pausing.

KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Bringing my own sunshine, every new experience is a chance to make life beautiful.

Pausing.

KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): While all living things should live as much as they can, it is only with hearts that they can see things rightly.

Feeling something, Kaji looks up at the sky.

KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Oh, here comes the rain again.

The gang member, Peter and Kaji exit the pet garden.

EXT. ROAD - DAY

Then, they run for shelter under a flyover.

FADE OUT.
