Act 1
INT. BEDROOM - DAY
KAJI is sitting still by the bedside.
KAJI (V.O.): Peter is quite alone.
Pausing.
KAJI (V.O) (Cont'd): Since my leg injury, I haven't been able to share a bed with him.
Pausing.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Has his longing turned inward?
Pausing.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): A comfort zone offers protection but it also creates isolation.
Pausing.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Would the room turn into a cage for him?
Act 2
EXT. RIVERSIDE PARK - DAY
Arriving with the PACK LEADER, Kaji sniffs the usual spot.
KAJI (V.O.): Business first.
Kaji finishes, shakes once. The Pack Leader cleans up after the dog.
KAJI (V.O) (Cont'd): After releasing my tension, I feel a sense of satisfaction.
Instead of wandering the grass, Kaji hops onto a bench.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Here's my throne!
Kaji sits upright.
KAJI (V.O) (Cont'd): My throne is safe, no surprises.
Kaji glances at the Pack Leader, who is staring at her mobile.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): If I possess power, does it mean that I'd be manipulative?
PACK LEADER: Come down! Run or walk with me.
Kaji flicks an ear.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Running is for dogs who don't know about falling.
Pausing,
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Walking means hoping for smells.
Pausing.
KAJI (V.O) (Cont'd): Smells means remembering. Peter's scent is fading.
Pausing.
KAJI (V.O) (Cont'd): I don't understand why he won't join us. Is he trying to protect himself?
Pausing.
KAJI (V.O) (Cont'd): The way he shows up or not in usual moments can build or erode connection.
Pausing.
KAJI (V.O) (Cont'd): I pay attention to who or what feels missing in my daily routines.
Gazing at the Pack Leader.
KAJI (V.O) (Cont'd): Aren't you done remembering?
Pausing.
KAJI (V.O) (Cont'd): Like humans, I can sense unresolved tension.
Pausing.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): Still sitting isn't lazy. It's the opposite.
Pausing.
KAJI (V.O) (Cont'd): It's holding the world in place so it can't leave me again.
Pausing.
KAJI (V.O) (Cont'd): I believe my injured leg has healed; but I feel not everything in me wants to run or walk.
Pausing.
KAJI (V.O) (Cont'd): One day I'll stop still sitting. Today isn't that day.
Act 3
INT. BEDROOM - NIGHT
Still sitting by the bedside.
KAJI (V.O): Courage isn't about jumping. It's still sitting when every muscle remembers the fall.
Pausing.
KAJI (V.O) (Cont'd): Love isn't the leap onto the bed - it's still sitting beside it when I can't make the jump anymore.
Pausing.
KAJI (V.O) (Cont'd): Seasons pass faster when I'm still sitting. Spring turns to Summer in the brink of a sunbeam. Life is short, how can I truly live and love better?
