Act 1
INT. STUDY - 09:45
PETER is following a Zoom conference with his iPad Mini. We see on screen a slide about "DAO".
PETER (V.O.): What's that?
Surfing the web with his smart phone, Peter sees on screen: "Dao" or "Tao" (in Chinese philosophy) is the absolute principle under the universe...that is in harmony with the natural order.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): But the speaker is talking about a community-led entity without central authority in the Token Economy.
Peter checks further.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Oh, "DAO" means "Decentralized Autonomous Organisation" constructed by rules encoded as a computer program controlled by members of the "DAO".
We see on screen a graph showing the Singularity of the Digital Economy and the Singularity of the Blockchain Economy.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Would "DAO", like "Dao" or "Tao", create harmony in the virtual order?
We see on screen a slide indicating the evolution of Web 1.0, Web 2.0 and Web 3.0.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Is "DAO" etc relevant to me?
Act 2
EXT. PARK - 12:45
Under the sun, Peter is jogging along a track.
PETER (V.O.): This morning, the Speaker remarked that Hong Kong shouldn't be a IP Trading hub, but an IP Commercialization hub.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): He knew that IP Trading was my pet project.
FLASHBACK
INT. ATTORNEY GENERAL'S CHAMBERS - DAY (1989)
Reading an urgent fax from Geneva, Peter (35) is in deep thoughts.
PETER (V.O.): My colleague who is negotiating on behalf of Hong Kong during the Uruguay Round is seeking my policy advice on IP.
Reading.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): GATT Members are concerned about Trade in Goods and then in Trade in Services. Now, IP is an emerging issue.
Reading.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Should IP be classified as goods or services? That's the question.
Thinking.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Nearly all goods or services are loaded with IP.
END FLASHBACK
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): When I became Director of Intellectual Property in 2011, I championed Hong Kong as an international IP Trading hub.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I had hoped that a possible platform could resolve the balance of payments issues among countries.
Thinking.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Commercialization is running something principally for financial gain.
Seeing a big box of seedlings by the flower bed, Peter stops to take a photo before resuming his jogging.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Weeks ago, while I was jogging here, I saw a MAN in a wheelchair cruising ahead of me.
Jogging.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I jog while I still can.
INT. ESTATE MALL - 13:00
Tapping buttons of an ATM, Peter does some bank transfers.
PETER (V.O.): Today, I've received my monthly pension. I had a cashflow issue this month.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I've used all my idle cash to buy Hong Kong stocks, hoping to get financial gain.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): But I'm still thinking about creating public value.
Peter then goes to a restaurant to buy his takeaway.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I've been trying to make my life simpler.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): My priority now isn't to get more done, but to have less to do. But I don't mind having a nap.
Act 3
INT. STUDY - 16:00
As Peter massages his eyes, we hear from Peter's iPad Mini: ...Your view on "DAO"?
PETER (V.O.): The only commonality between traditional institutions and the disruptive "DAO" is the contracts among the parties or members.
Thinking.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): In the real world, I'm who I'm. But in the metaverse, what would my life be?
Tapping Meta on his smart phone, Peter picks the colours and styles of the skin, eyes, eye lashes, eye brows, eye lashes, nose, lips, hair, cap, body and outfit of an avatar.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): It's fun to create an avatar. Let it be me!
Smiling, Peter posts his Avatar on Meta.
