FADE IN.
Act 1
INT. STUDY - 7:30-08:30
PETER is clearing the mess.
PETER (V.O.): I don't know if I've lost or misplaced my car key. Only days ago did I know that I've been using the spare one.
Checking pockets.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): I'm sure I mislaid my mouse. I realized that within half and hour. I thought it would resurface, but it hasn't.
Checking bags.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): No luck...I can only recall the film "The Father"!
EXT. ROADS - 10:00
Seeing the red traffic light, Peter stops his car.
PETER (V.O.): I don't think I'd go back to my NT home today. I haven't fixed my new assignment yet.
As the light changes from orange to green, Peter accelerates.
Act 2
EXT. SWIMMING POOL - 10:45
Arriving, Peter sees a queue.
PETER (V.O.): I'm not going to waste my time waiting. I'll come back later today.
INT. STUDY - 12:00
Peter continues his search.
PETER (V.O.): I may have lost my car key. But where have I mislaid my mouse?
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I'm disinclined to do any professional work.
Phone rings. Peter takes the call.
PETER (To phone): ...April 20 is fine...
Finishing the conversation, Peter looks pleased.
PETER (V.O.): Those instructing me have taken the initiative. I'm quite free now.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Let me go swimming at Gold Coast Beach before returning to my NT home.
EXT. GOLD COAST BEACH - 13:30 - 14:30
Scattered showers. Peter parks his car.
PETER (V.O.): No one would come swimming. I used to swim in all seasons.
Peter is the only swimmer at the beach.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The water is warm and the exposure is low. I won't bump into other swimmers.
While swimming, Peter keeps an eye on his belongings on the beach.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): A little rain is of no concern to me. For rainbows to appear, both rain and sun are needed.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): As I don't have to queue up to swim here, I should come more often.
Later, in a bathroom, Peter sneezes.
PETER (V.O.): Yes, I've breathed cold air.
Peter rushes back to the car park to get inside his car.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The car compartment is like a warm room.
INT. MALL- 14:45 - 15:45
Lakeside restaurant. A WAITRESS brings Peter hot coffee. Peter drinks it hurriedly.
PETER (V.O.): I feel warm inside too!
Store front. Something catches Peter's attention.
PETER (V.O.): The cushions look good.
Picking up the cushions, Peter pays at the cashier.
Supermarket. Peter buys packets of ice lollies.
PETER (V.O.): I want to fill up the fridge. It'll be sunny and hot next week.
INT. PETER'S NT HOME - 16:00-17:00
Sitting room. Seeing fallen bicycles on the floor, Peter tries to raise them up.
PETER (V.O.): Oh, the spring of the kickstand of one has got entangled with a spoke of another. I love both bicycles.
Peter tries to disentangle them but without success.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I don't want to damage either one. It's so tiring to handle two bicycles at the same time.
After much effort, Peter disentangles the two bicycles, but the spring has come loose. Trying to -fix the spring, Peter hurts his finger instead.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Life has many twists and turns.
Act 3
INT. PETER'S NT HOME - 1700 - 22.00
Unpacking the merchandise he bought earlier, Peter places them on the sofa.
PETER (V.O.): It's grey to dark outside, but my sitting room is colourful.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I prefer living in colour.
INT. STUDY - 23:00
PETER (V.O.): I find joy in the ordinary again.
Peter looks content.
FADE OUT.
