FADE IN.
Act 1
INT. STUDY - AFTERNOON
Relaxing in a sofa, PETER takes some almond chocolates.
PETER (V.O.): I bought these chocolates just before consulting my family doctor a fortnight ago.
FLASHBACK
INT. CONSULTATION ROOM - DAY (June 7, 2021)
DOCTOR: You haven't done your jabs yet. The Delta variant is more serious than the Alpha strain. If infected, the BioNTech vaccine is still effective against hospitalisation or death.
Peter listens attentively.
DOCTOR (Cont'd). If you asked me about the mRNA vaccine several months ago, I wouldn't have much to say...I've taken the jabs already.
Peter continues to listen attentively.
DOCTOR (Cont'd): Go and take the jabs, they are less risky than the drugs I've been prescribing to you.
PETER: Dr, I heed your advice. I'll make a will and then take the jabs.
Act 2
INT. SITTING ROOM - LATER
In the presence of his WIFE, Peter is making vaccination reservations with his phone.

PETER: Yes. I've some volunteering work to do too. And I've also promised to cook on Father's Day. So the earliest date for my 1st jab would be June 21.

RETURN TO PRESENT
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): The Father's Day dinner that I prepared was very well received. My family didn't know that I could cook at the age of 10, using wood as fuel.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): Since we had domestic helpers, I haven't interrupted with their work, or that of my wife, in the kitchen. I eat anything they prepare.
Recalling.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): When I heard my wife discussing with my children in early June regarding where to dine on the third Sunday of June, I was perplexed.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): Then, I reckoned it would be Father's Day - I don't even take my birthdays seriously.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): And then my elder son remarked that if every day was just an ordinary day, no day would be special. And he's right.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Due to the dining restrictions, the only choice for my family was to eat at home. We could have takeaways as usual.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): To make the day special to all, I promised to do a Father's Day dinner. I believed it should be my day and no one should complain for whatever they got.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): And if anything bad happens to me after my taking the 1st jab, they'd have one special dinner to remember.
Act 3
INT. STUDY - CONTINUOUS
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Having tasted my dishes yesterday night, my wife has no hesitation to delegate her cooking-monitoring role to me.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): This morning, I've already demonstrated to our domestic helper how to prepare a dish.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I've also sent out my decision on a domain-name dispute. I've also refined the drafting of some pleadings.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Then, I went swimming as if I was swimming for the last time.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): After that, I rushed to take my 1st jab. And I'm feeling alright at the moment.
Researching with his phone, Peter reads some small prints.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Regarding the Delta variant, it says that the data showed that the BioNTech vaccine was 94% effective at preventing hospitalisation after the 1st dose...
Peter finishes all of his almond chocolates.
