  1. FADE IN.

  2. Act 1

  3. INT. SITTING ROOM - 08:30

  4. Checking his Quora notifications, PETER focuses on one.

  5. PETER (V.O.): The answer request is: "What did Oscar Wilde mean by 'I find it harder and harder every day to live to my blue China.'" It sounds romantic and philosophical!

  6. Peter researches with his mobile.

  7. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Blue China are objects of beauty. Art may imitate life. Life may imitate art. He means that living his life as a work of art isn't progressing well.

  8. Peter types his answer on his mobile.

  9. INT. STUDY - 09:00 -13:00

  10. Peter is working behind his computer.

  11. PETER (V.O.): As I hear no machine-drilling sounds, I'd better make good use of the opportunity to do some professional work.

  12. Working and working.

  13. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Done!

  14. Act 2

  15. INT. CHAMBERS - 15:15

  16. A SECRETARY passes some papers to Peter.

  17. SECRETARY: A liaison officer has asked me to remind you that an interpreter will wait for you at the Centre's waiting room tomorrow at 09:30.

  18. PETER: Many thanks!

  19. PETER (V.O.): After doing my work tomorrow, I'll swim at the Golden Beach. For today, I'll go to Island South.

  20. EXT. DEEP WATER BAY ROAD - 16:15

  21. Sitting in the upper deck of a bus, Peter sees Deep Water Bay in a distance.

  22. PETER (V.O.): I haven't swum in this bay since the pandemic...

  23. Peter quickly gets up and soon gets off the bus.

  24. EXT. DEEP WATER BAY - 16:15 - 17:15

  25. Having changed, Peter deposits his belongings on the beach, not far away from a lifeguard tower.

  26. PETER (V.O.): This small and quiet bay has three floating platforms.

  27. Peter begins to swim.

  28. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Whether the Bay is deep or shallow has become irrelevant to me. Now, I can even plough waves.

  29. Soon, Peter gets up to a floating platform.

  30. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): What I love the most is lying on it, like resting on a cloud floating in the blue.

  31. Having checked the beach activities, Peter looks at the hillside residences farther away.

  32. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): There's no way I can afford to live there.

  33. Pausing.

  34. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): But I'm here alright, fully and freely engaging and enjoying nature.

  35. Peter swims to another floating platform to rest awhile before leaving for the last one.

  36. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Am I and other swimmers performing our situation art here?

  37. Thinking.

  38. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I hear splashing sounds and see other swimmers' live actions.

  39. Recalling.

  40. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The probability of our existence as we're today is 1 in 400 trillion. We are all art-like, like blue China.

  41. Thinking.

  42. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Having lived for over 67 years, I'm striving to live as a work of art.

  43. Thinking.

  44. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): It's only after retirement that I began to appreciate the beauty of life.

  45. Pausing.

  46. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): It's better late than never though.

  47. Returning to the beach, Peter captures a moment with his mobile.

  48. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Isn't nature already a masterpiece of performing art?

  49. Peter checks the still image of the past moment.

  50. Act 3

  51. INT. SITTING ROOM - NIGHT

  52. Peter and his WIFE are watching a TV drama, featuring robotic characters.

  53. PETER (V.O.): Robotics and AI will make the world pretty fantastic.

  54. Thinking.

  55. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): AI robots are also works of art. Like humans, they can mimic life. Unlike humans, they're capable of disciplined thinking and working.

  56. Watching.

  57. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): When humanoid robots know love, they'd be alive like humans.

  58. Reflecting.

  59. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Meanwhile, living up to my blue China is still a work in progress.

  60. FADE OUT.

  61. THE END
