FADE IN.
Act 1
INT. SITTING ROOM - DAY
Phone in hand, PETER looks relaxed.
PETER (V.O.): Having done my court appearances, I'm now free to entertain my Quora fans.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): What music venues do you miss going to that were around when you were younger that no longer exist?
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I didn't have the luxury to do that. When I was in my teens, I worked as a part-time waiter in a hotel and sang at my secondary school's variety shows.
Peter finds a black-and-white image from his phone.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): It was X'mas 1970. I was singing on a makeshift stage. That was the only photo that I got.
Peter examines the image of a 4-man band.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I was definitely the star of the show as the faces of my bandmates weren't captured.
Examining.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I was particularly interested in noting the facial expressions of some of the audience.
Recalling.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I was dreaming to become a rock star 50 years ago.
Peter types his answer on his phone.
Act 2
INT. SITTING ROOM - CONTINUOUS
Peter sees another notification.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Can one return to a conventional life after living an unconventional one for years?
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): If there's the will, there's the way. People are growing and can uplift or transform themselves if they want.
Recalling.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): After my 1970 performance, I realized I performed poorly in my academic attainments. I decided to change my lifestyle and turn around.
Recalling.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I was studying just as passionately as my previous singing and guitar playing.
Recalling.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I managed to pass my public exams in 1971 and got into a matriculation class in Autumn.
Having typed on his phone, Peter sees another new notification.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): What are some of the greatest turnaround stories in history?
Thinking.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Deng Xiaoping is regarded as the architect of modern China. Throughout his political career, he had three turnaround stories.
Peter surfs the web.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): He was first punished by his comrades, then bullied by the Red Guards and lastly criticized by the Gang of Four.
Thinking.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Subsequently, he became the most powerful person in China as the old guards passed away.
Reading.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): To be able to live long is a political asset.
Peter types his answer on the phone. Then he sees another new notification.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): What was a gift that made me speechless?
Thinking.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): When I was with the Government, I didn't take gifts. If it was impolite to decline, I would seek approvals to accept them and let them be lucky draw items for my colleagues.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): It seems that I've to skip entertaining this answer request.
Peter doesn't seem to give in.
Act 3
INT. SITTING ROOM - CONTINUOUS
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): In early 2011 when it was publicly announced that I'd become the Director of Intellectual Property, Hong Kong, China, my colleagues presented me with a big card of congratulations.
Peter mines an image from his phone. Initials aside, we see printed words: You deserve all the good things life has to offer.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I was speechless because the message reminded me of the decades of my struggles to make it happen.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): These Quora answer requests jog my priceless memories.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Instead of keeping it in my heart, let me document my treasure and share my message to the world.
Peter's attention is distracted by a TV program - a teenager band is entertaining their peers.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): That was what I did 50 years ago.
Finishing typing, Peter checks incoming mails.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Oh, an online assignment is coming up.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): To be able to deliver value in pandemic times is a good thing.
Peter looks content.
