FADE IN
Act 1

Sunlight streams through the curtains. PETER scrolls through his phone.
PETER (V.O.): Novelty bonus...dopamine spikes...time expansion...
FLASHBACK
EXT. COACH - EVENING (18 June 2026)
YAN, the tour guide, speaks from the mic.
YAN: Our three-day trip is about to come to the end. You'll remember these three days more than months of routine...
PETER (V.O.): I believe so. But why?
END FLASHBACK
Peter continues to read a post.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): It's neuroscience. When something is new, the brain encodes more detail. Time feels longer. Richer.
Act 2
INT. LIVING ROOM - LATER
Peter's WIFE appears.
PETER: Just then, I read an Airline's advert, promoting fireworks display in Okinawa next Saturday...10,000 shells.
Pausing.
PETER (Cont'd): Shall we go? Leave next Friday.
His wife checks her phone diary.
WIFE: Oh, I've a dinner appointment next Friday.
PETER: We can take a 7:00 flight next Saturday...
WIFE: We watched the Nagaoka Grand Fireworks in Aug 2025. I started planning and executing in 2024, as tickets and hotel rooms sold out quickly.
Peter nods.
WIFE (Cont'd): Check how many shells did we see in Nagaoka?
Peter researches with his phone.
PETER: 20,000.
WIFE: And we saw the mega size shell.
PETER: Yes, I now recall.
EXT. MTR STATION - 14:15
Peter taps his Octopus card. Passes the gates.
PETER (V.O): As I need to return to my chambers, I'll swim in Morrision Hill Swimming Pool later. I haven't been there for a long time.
He boards the train. Finds a priority seat.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Where did I travel last ... Sept...Oct... Nov...Dec...
Peter opens his phone's photo album. He searches his Sept 2025 photos. We see a grid of them.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Last Sept, I was in Tokyo/Wakkanai/Rishiri Island/Rebun Island.
He scrolls faster.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Since I turned 60, I started travelling at least once a month. Sometimes solo. But I can't recall a dozen of my travels.
Peter opens a notes app and begins to docuent his recent travels, inserting photos.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Not just the going. Remember the going.
EXT. DEEPWATER BAY - 17:00
Peter floats on his back at the calm water.
PETER (V.O.): The swimming pool's afternoon session closes at 5pm. And I want to surprise myself somewhat.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I'm not just planning, I'm executing my time-expansion project.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd):Have I become a novelty addict?
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Unlike Silverstrand, the water here is murky...
Peter swims butterfly style back to shore, getting the attention of a few BEACHGOERS.
Act 3
INT. BEDROOM - 22:00
Peter uploads an image to a draft on his laptop. It shows an outdoor garden scene featuring a book-like public artwork that reflects Zhuangzi's wisdom about life's limits and the unlimited possibilities of learning.
PETER (V.O.): Every new wonder comes with an ending - so I'm choosing to notice.
Thinking.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I can't expand the hours - but I can expand what stays.
Reflecting.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): One new experience at a time, I'm learning to live forward.
The END
FADE OUT
