  3. EXT. HANG HAU VILLAGE - 17:15


  4. Roadside. Having parked the car, PETER indicates to his WIFE.


  5. PETER: I'm going with you.

  6. PETER (V.O.): I used to wait for my wife and our pet at the car park, but today, roadside temporary parking seems fine.


  7. They leave the car.


  8. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): See how our pet would react then she sees us again.

  9. Soon, they arrive at a shop with a white barber pole depicting a dog device.

  10. PETER: This is cute.


  11. Peter sees hairdressers in light-red uniforms.


  12. PETER (V.O.): Well, the decoration and facilities here are beyond my expectation.


  13. Peter captures a photo of the shop.


  14. Act 2


  15. FLASHBACK


  16. INT. BARBER SHOP, HUNG SHUI KIU - DAY (1966)


  17. A BARBER is cutting the hair of Peter (12).


  18. PETER (V.O.): Having settling down, I'll enjoy the one-to-one service.


  19. The barber is trimming Peter's hair.


  20. PETER: I need custom shaving.


  21. The barber reclines Peter's chair.


  22. PETER (V.O.): I know there isn't much to shave, but I feel relaxed in the reclined position.


  23. The barber using a canvas to sharpen a razor.


  24. PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): That's a mystery to me.


  25. Before shaving, the barber then uses shaving foam to wet and soften Peter's skin and hair.


  26. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I enjoy this the most.


  27. Later, the barber applies a blow-dryer to Peter hair.


  28. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): This is the tricky part as the heat exposure hurts.


  29. INT. PETER'S FAMILY HOME - DAY (1969)


  30. Facing a mirror, a long-haired Peter (15) is using a new barber's scissor to cut his hair.


  31. PETER (V.O.): The trend is to do the hair yourself as barbers don't understand the young's desired hairstyle.


  32. INT. WU SHUE-FUN'S HOME, YUEN LONG - NIGHT (Summer, 1974)


  33. A gathering of former classmates, including CHAN KING-CHAU (21) and WU SHUE-FUN (21).


  34. PETER (V.O.): Chan and Wu repeated their F.7. I chose to teach full-time and re-sit the HKU matriculation exams. We met when the exams were over.


  35. Later, Wu cuts Peter's hair.


  36. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): This is meant to celebrate my joining the civil service.


  37. END FLASHBACK


  38. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): But days later, both Chan and Wu were struck dead by lightning while hoping to see sunrise from Lantau Peak.


  39. FLASHBACK


  40. EXT. KWAI SHING ESTATE - DAY (Winter, 1974)


  41. Market place. An ASSISTANT HOUSING MANAGER (AHM) wearing a traditional hairstyle, a long-haired Peter, and half a dozen of CARETAKERS are stationing at hawker control spots.


  42. AHM: Peter, why do you wear such long hair?

  43. PETER: I don't feel like cutting it.


  44. AHM looks perplexed.


  45. PETER (Cont'd): My last haircut was done by my friend, He died several months ago. What remains in me was the shape my hair cut by him.


  46. RETURN TO PRESENT


  47. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Both Wu and Chan fantasize to become someone's loving boyfriends.


  48. Pausing.


  49. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): They stay in my memory as well-liked friends forever at age 21.


  50. Reflecting.


  51. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The real trouble for all is, we think we've time.


  52. Act 3


  53. Peter's wife gets back the anxious-looking KAJI, the family pet.


  54. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I don't think she has enjoyed the one-to-one hairdressing service.


  55. Returning to the car, a well-groomed Kaji sits on the lap of Peter's wife.


  56. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The most beautiful thing can't be seen or even touched, it can only be felt.


  57. Pausing.


  58. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): This one little trip has triggered my big memories.


  59. Driving.


  60. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): As long as I live, I treat my memories as treasures.


  61. FADE OUT
