Act 1
INT. LIVING ROOM - 12:00
The sun streams through the window. Sitting in a massage chair, PETER picks up a call.
FATBOY (from phone): Morning, Mr Cheung, I'd like to share with you the estimated costs of the car repair options...
PETER (to phone): Okay, replace the Previa's engine, replace the SMART's fuel pump...I'll also drive my Eunos to your repair shop in a day or two to have its exhaust pipe welded.
FATBOY (to phone): Sure, I'll order the parts today!
PETER (V.O.): It isn't just about fixing cars - its about keeping memories alive.
Peter hangs up.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Fatboy's brother used to be in charge, but his family is exploring opportunities elsewhere. Before that, their mother held the position until her passing several years ago.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): They keep my cars running, and I proudly support local micro-businesses.
Peter smiles.
Act 2
EXT. SILVERSTRAND - 13:15
Sunny. Many vacant metered car parks. Peter arrives in his red Nissan 200SX.
PETER (V.O.): Let me park in the lot with shade; it's also closest to the staircase leading down to the beach.
After parking, Peter plans to pay the meter but soon sees the "out of order" sign.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): It was okay days ago.
Peter then parks his coupe in a lot under the blazing sun. He feeds the meter.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I once got a ticket, a reminder that time flies when I'm happy.
Beach. Stunning view - soft sands meet clear water.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Salt water therapy with a view.
Peter strips to his swimming briefs, applies sunscreen, and puts on his goggles. He wades in the water.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I love the refreshing sensation of the cool water hitting my chest, enveloping my whole body.
Peter swims breaststroke towards the floating barrier marked by vibrant orange buoys.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I swim for clarity. Each stroke is a thought untangled, each breath a moment of pure, uncomplicated focus.
Treading water for a while, Peter swims towards one of the round floating platforms.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Let me take a moment to see if there are any small fish swimming beneath it.
Following Peter, we see small fish gather in small schools, shimmering like scattered jewels.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Once, I believe it's heaven on earth to lie flat on the platform under the sun. Now, I find greater joy in staying in the water, interacting with the fish around me.
Later, Peter glides gracefully through the water, alternating between the butterfly stroke and backstroke, as he makes his way back to the shore.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The body is a machine. It needs maintenance. Coolent. The mind is another, it needs lubrication. Precision.
After enjoying a refreshing open-air shower, Peter heads up the stairs leading to the changing room.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Having swum in beaches outside Hong Kong, I believe Hongkongers are fortunate to have access to such excellent free facilities.
Dressed in his T-shirt and shorts again, Peter snaps a photo of the picturesque Silverstrand before taking the staircases back to the car park.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Now, I've decided not to push myself to walk all the way up without taking breaks.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Some beachgoers lack private transportation, after arriving at the car park, they still have to trek uphill to reach other public access points.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): This just goes to show how captivating Silverstrand truly is.
Car park. Peter gazes at the chalets nearby.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I often wonder if the residents fully optimize the resources available to them. Experiencing Silverstrand - seeing, hearing, and smelling it - sounds incomplete without tasting and feeling its water.
Peter glances at the remaining time on the meter. It reads "2 minutes".
INT. CHAMBERS - 18:00
Floor-to-ceiling bookshelves hold thick legal volumes. Peter, in his crisp shirt and trousers, sits behind a desk, reading papers.
PETER (V.O.): Civil litigation is the civilized machinery of society for compelling a responsible party to repair the harm they've caused, thereby enforcing the rules that allow people to trust each and engage in commerce and daily life.
Peter takes a thick 2025 white book from the shelves.
PETER (V.O.): I need to update myself. Part by part. Thought by thought.
Peter works deep into the evening. The only sounds are the turning of pages.
Act 3
INT. LIVING ROOM - 22:00
Peter uploads an image of Silverstrand to a draft on his laptop.
PETER (V.O.): Silverstrand isn't a destination; it's a remedy. Its salt water is the antidote to the day's wear and tear.
Thinking.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): In the light of blue light screens and money matters, Silverstrand is the only reset button that truly restores balance.
Reflecting.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The waters of Silverstand have endured long before my first car and my first case, and they'll remain long after. It's a comforting thought to be so fleeting in the presence of something so timeless.
