FADE IN.
Act 1
INT. CAR PARK - DAY
Getting out of his deep blue MERCEDES with hazard lights on, PETER gets inside a numeric blue SMART nearby.
PETER (V.O.): Would it start?
FLASHBACK
INT. CAR PARK - DAY
Using his key to open the rear window of a SMART, Peter crawls inside and stretches his hand to reach a door lock to open the door.
PETER (V.O.): It's so smart that it doesn't have any key holes in the driver/passenger doors.
Withdrawing from the rear cabin, Peter gets to the passenger side of the car and begins to uncover the floor carpet.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The battery is hiding under the carpet to save space, but maintenance is hard.
After using a car jump starter to connect the battery points, Peter goes to the driver seat to start the car. It starts and Peter looks pleased.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I've left the car paralysed for nearly two months when I found that its battery was without electricity. I hadn't driven it for months.
END FLASHBACK
Act 2
INT. CAR PARK - CONTINUOUS
After some engine cranking sounds, the Smart starts.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Although I've the jump starter ready, it's good to know that the battery can still store electricity at least for a day.
Peter checks the warning lights on the dashboard.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): Yesterday, after starting the car, I initially couldn't move it because the brakes were locked.
FLASHBACK
INT. CAR PARK - DAY
Peter shifts the gear to automatic and steps on the accelerator but the car looks seized. Peter then shifts to reverse gear, and steps on the accelerator again. We hear sounds from brakes and see the car moving backwards.
PETER (V.O.): Ah, unlocked.
Looking pleased, Peter drives the Smart out of the parking lot.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Perhaps, I'd drive it out of the car park for a while.
Peter then sees on the dashboard, the symbols of ABS and Traction Control popping up.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Oh, something's wrong with the braking system? For safety's sake, I just test-drive slowly inside the car park.
After some acceleration, Peter brakes to stop the car. He repeats the process a few times.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): It seems that the braking system is OK. But the warning lights don't go away.
After parking the Smart back to the parking lot, Peter switches off the engine. Then he restarts the car again.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Oh, the warning lights don't go away. Let me check it out tomorrow. The car might not be able to process so much information having just resurrected.
RETURN TO PRESENT
Staring at the dashboard warning lights, Peter is waiting for something to happen.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Ah, the ABS and Traction Control lamps have gone off now. I should stretch the car's muscles.
Having parked his Mercedes into the parking lot, Peter drives the Smart out of the car park.
EXT. ROAD - DAY
Sun shines on the swift moving Smart on the road.
PETER (V.O.): As the sky is blue, let me drive to Shek O then. I haven't been there for quite a while now. Oh, I haven't got my swimwear with me.
Peter drives along narrow and winding roads.
EXT. SHEK O - DAY
After parking the Smart under the sun, Peter walks towards the beach but sees barricades.
PETER (V.O.): Oh, it's closed, due to the pandemic.
Peter takes a few photos of the beach from a distance before walking towards some beach facilities.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Oh, the toilets are closed too. What a shame!
Peter scratches his head.
Act 3
Peter surfs the web with his mobile.
PETER (V.O.): There's one inside the Shek O village.
Following Google Maps on his phone screen, Peter is about to arrive his destination. WOMAN#1 (60s) appears.
WOMAN#1: Looking for toilets?
PETER: Yes.
WOMAN#1: Just around the corner.
PETER: Thank you!
PETER (V.O.): She's so nice.
Coming out of the toilet, Peter meets WOMAN#2 (50s) and WOMAN#3 (50s).
WOMEN#2&3: Are there toilets nearby?
PETER: Just around the corner.
WOMEN:#2&3 Thank you!
PETER (V.O.): I like such exchanges. I visit this part of the village for the first time - another staycation.
EXT. SHEK O LOOKOUT - DAY
After parking his Smart behind a Mercedes, Peter sees a MAN (30s) and WOMAN#4 (20s) leaving the lookout for their Mercedes. While passing over Peter, Woman#4 looks deeply into Peter's eyes.
ETER (V.O.): I believe she wants to see the kind of persons who would own such a fun car, rather than a Mercedes.
Reflecting.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): A car does say a lot about the owner's character. What she may not know is that I've the best of both worlds.
Having taken a few photos, Peter drives away too.
INT. CAR PARK - DAY
After changing cars, Peter drives away his Mercedes happily.
PETER (V.O.): I feel the sunny side of everything today.
FADE OUT.
