  1. FADE IN

  2. Act 1

  3.

  4. INT. BEDROOM - 08:45

  5. Bright and airy, with natural light flooding through a large, multi-paned window. PETER looks stunned.

  6.

  7. PETER (V.O.): What a clear view from the inside of an empty room.

  8. Beyond the window, a sprawling urban landscape of mid-rise buidings stretching out under the sky.

  9. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The space is uncluttered and serene. A stark contrast to what it used to be.

  10. Pausing.

  11. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): It has been redesigned by our younger daughter who may use it to create artwork if she returns to Hong Kong.

  12. Pausing.

  13. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Every great idea is born from a moment of empty space, both in the world and in the mind.

  14. Pausing.

  15. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): True design begins with subraction. It's the art of knowing what to remove to reveal the essence.

  40. END FLASHBACK

  41. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Simplicity is luxurious.

  42. Peter blinks, the memories receding. He looks around the room.

  43. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The room isn't empty; it's full of potential.

  44. Pausing.

  45. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): This room is like a different world.

  46. He sits on the edge of the bed, testing its firmness. His expression shifts to contemplation.

  47. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): All those years, chasing more. More gadgets, more clothes, more memories I thought I needed to keep.

  48. Pausing.

  49. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): But this...this emptiness, this clarity - it's beautiful.

  50. Pausing.

  51. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I carry the weight of things I no longer need, fearing the lightness of an empty room.

  52. Pausing.

  53. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I used to think a room was defined by what was in it. At 71, I learned it's defined by what's not.

  59. Thinking.

  60. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The clearest view of my life comes not from what fills it, but from the empty spaces between.

  61. Reflecting.

  62. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The courage to create empty space is the courage to make room for a new version of myself.
