  1. FADE IN

  2. Act 1

  3. INT. LIVING ROOM - 15:45

  4. Afternoon night slants through the window. PETER relaxes in a massage chair. He grabs his Honor 400 Smart.

  5. PETER (V.O.): I don't have a permanent SIM card for this phone. I only use it with a time-limited SIM provided by the travel agent when I travel in mainland China.

  6. The phone screen is glowing. A soft comtemplative smile plays on Peter's lips. On the lock screen, we see a stunning photo of a beautiful woman.

  7. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): She's Xueyun, the lead female character of the Red Boat opera performance on the Pearl River in Canton.

  8. On the home screen, another stunning photo of Xueyung on a small circular elevated platform. Her light-blue qipao pools around her. Her left leg is exposed just so.

  9. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The line is elegant and graceful.

  10. We also see the stage light sculping her profile, her expression one of poignant longing.

  11. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): She acts very well. Her posture is sublime.

  12. Peter swipes. Another nearly identical, but slightly different, angle of the same pose. He swipes again. And again.

  13. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I love the series, all variations on that single, perfect posture.

  14. Act 2

  15. FLASHBACK

  16. EXT. RED BOAT THEATER - 20:10 (One week ago)

  17. Chaos. The theatre is a open space with no fixed seating. Audience MEMBERS jostle for position. Peter politely stands near the wing of the stage.

  18. PETER (V.O.): I accept this spot as I was the last one to board the boat.

  19. Peter raises his phone, not expecting much.

  20. MONTAGE OF THE PERFORMANCE

  21. A. XUEYUN kneels on the stage floor. The light catches her perfectly.

  22. B. Then, the small, circular platform on which Xueyun is kneeling in a sit pose rises from the floor.

  23. C. From Peter's sidelong angle, its breathtaking. He's seeing the graceful line from her shoulder down her exposed leg, the drape of the qipao.

  24. D. Peter snaps photo after photo, his thumb a steady, silent metronome.

  25. RETURN TO PRESENT

  26. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The best seat in the boat isn't a seat at all. Sometimes, it's the humble spot where luck and readiness meet.

  27. Peter continues to check his art gallery, which documents the opera sequentially, and then stops at another stunning selfie depicing Xueyun and himself in a different setting.

  28. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Her stage makeup was delicate. She smiled warmly right at the camera. Her head tilted near my beaming, wrinkled face.

  29. Peter stares at it.

  30. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): It's a different kind of perfect.

  31. The earlier admiration in his eyes now mixes with a deeper, personal joy.

  32. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I captured the photos. I documented the art. She gave me the smile.

  33. Peter leans back, the phone resting on his chest. He looks out of the window, puzzled and happy.

  34. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): A week. Why does it feel like it just happened? Why does it feel like this?

  35. Pausing.

  36. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): A shot is a moment stopped. A connection is a feeling that starts.

  37. Pausing.

  38. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Luck framed the art. Love framed the moment.

  39. Peter lifts the phone, the selfie shining.

  40. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The shot was deliberate. The memory was destined.

  41. Pausing.

  42. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): This is a conversation. However brief. She looked. And she smiled...for me.

  43. Pausing.

  44. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): A moment's power is measured not in minutes, but in the emotional resonance it creates within me.

  45. Pausing.

  46. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): In a life that can feel mundane or lonely, my encounter with Xueyun becomes my emotional compass point.

  47. Pausing.

  48. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): These guiding moments of light can orient me and bring warmth long after they occur.

  49. Pausing.

  50.

  51. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): And the profound aesthetic and emotional experiences don't just belong to the young.

  52. Act 3

  53. INT. LIVING ROOM - 21:45

  54. Peter uploads a photo of a female performer in light-blue qipao kneels gracefully on a glowing elevated circular platform in a draft on his laptop.

  55. PETER (V.O.): Sometimes, circumstances place me slightly off-center. That's exactly where I need to be to see the better picture.

  56. Thinking.

  57. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Beauty isn't just observed. By taking a snapshot, making it a phone wallpaper, I transform a fleeting experience into a permanent part of my inner world.

  58. Reflecting.

  59. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The lucky shot wasn't the photo of Xueyun in a pose. It was the click of a shutter that opened a window to a lasting warmth.

  60. END
