FADE IN.
Act 1
INT. HOTEL ROOM - MORNING
Waking up, PETER sees KAJI sleeping near his feet.
PETER (V.O.): She recognises her spot. Whether the bed is new to her doesn't matter.
INT. RESTAURANT - LATER
Peter and his WIFE are packing food and drink.
PETER: (V.O.): This is the first time we'd take away our buffet breakfast.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): We just don't want to leave our pet inside the room for too long.
INT. HOTEL ROOM - LATER
While Peter and his wife are having breakfast, Kaji refuses to consume any of hers.
PETER: But it's her meal time...
Act 2
INT. HOME - AFTERNOON
Lying in her bed sleepily, Kaji sees Peter and his wife leaving home.
WIFE: Kai Kai?
Kaji isn't interested.
PETER: The timing isn't right.
INT. HOTEL - LATER
Filling in some forms, Peter and his wife are checking in.
PETER (V.O.): When I travelled alone, I liked to check in different hotels so that I'd have better exposure to a city.
EXT. ROOF-TOP SWIMMING POOL - LATER
Sunny. Peter finishes his swimming.
PETER (V.O.): The roof-top swimming pools, apart from the views, they don't meet my expectations.
Recalling.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The one in my estate home is a lot better. Still, I prefer to swim in the sea.
Peter then gets inside a cone-shaped shade to relax.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): It's pretty nice to break from my routine like this.
INT - HOTEL ROOM - LATER
Sitting in bed with her laptop, Peter's wife is checking something.
WIFE: Would you be available in about three weeks?
PETER: Just pick the dates that are convenient to you.
WIFE: I want to fix another hotel booking, before you take your second jab.
Nodding, Peter's recalling.
.
PETER (V.O.): Yesterday, a very good friend suggested we should have lunch together. I welcomed that and suggested a date.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): It was my first available slot just before my taking the first jab. But she couldn't make it because of some grandmotherly errands.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): So we'll meet for lunch days later. I hope I can make it.
WIFE: Done! I've booked the hotel already.
PETER: Good.
PETER (V.O.): Although the life risk of taking jabs is very low, there's still the risk.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): My wife feels it. And there's no harm for us to take staycations meanwhile.
WIFE (Cont'd): I've also done other incidental reservations.
INT. RESTAURANT - NIGHT
Peter and his wife are seated.
PETER: It's called Sagano. Your choice! Very good!
WIFE: We've been to Sagano two times.
PETER: Yes, I remember that very well.
Pausing.
PETER: In Geneva, there's a restaurant called Sagano as well. I used to host lunches there.
WIFE: Is that right? You've never taken me there!
PETER (V.O.): Since retirement, I've never set foot in Geneva.
Act 3
INT. HOTEL ROOM - LATER
PETER: The dinner sets are very nice.
WIFE: I was so full.
PETER: And we've the vacation feel too!
PETER (V.O.): There's no right time as to when to break from our routine. There's just time and what we choose to do with it.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I trust the timing of our lives.
FADE OUT.
