Placing a blue iPhone near a bottle of soft drink, PETER takes a photo of them with another iPhone.
PETER (V.O.): Yes, there's a correlation.
FLASHBACK
INT. MALL#1 - AFTERNOON (LAST FRIDAY)
Holding an iPad Mini in a phone repair stall, Peter is talking to a REPAIRER.
PETER: So, apart from replacing the home key, I need to replace the screen as well.
REPAIRER: Yes, otherwise, it won't be usable. I'll charge you a total sum of $750.
Nodding, Peter leaves his iPad Mini with the repairer.
PETER (V.O.): I don't know the repair cost could be that reasonable. When my old iPad Mini began out of order in March, 2019, I quickly bought a new one.
Act 2
INT. MALL#1 - AFTERNOON (LAST FRIDAY) (CONTINUOUS)
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): And then I thought I had used the old one to capture lots of precious moments from late Oct 2014...
Thinking.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): I'm just nostalgic about everything.
INT. MALL#1 - AFTERNOON (LAST SATURDAY)
Having paid the repairer, Peter gets back his iPad Mini.
PETER (V.O.): I'm so glad the it has got another life. I'll use my two iPad Minis equally.
INT. MALL#2 - EVENING (LAST MONDAY)
Inside a phone store, Peter is testing a new iPhone. Then, a SALESMAN presents Peter with a bottle of soft drink.
PETER (V.O.): I didn't expect buying a new iPhone would get such an extra.
Grabbing the drink with one hand, Peter leaves the store.
SALESMAN: Check that your new iPhone is with you!
Nodding, Peter checks his pockets.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): It'd be a joke if I'd just take home the drink but lose my new phone right away!
EXT. SEASIDE PARK - MORNING (TODAY)
Blue sky and sea. Peter takes photos with one phone, and then with another phone.
PETER (V.O.): I want to compare their picture qualities. Furthermore, I want to use my two iPhones evenly.
Peter notices something.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): Oh the old one's battery is getting low so quickly. Yes, it's 2 1/2 years old already.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): Let me optimize its residual value before replacing the battery.
INT. STUDY - AFTERNOON (TODAY)
Picking up his old iPad Mini, Peter checks something.
PETER (V.O.): Oh, after resetting, I haven't added back my mail accounts. Let me do it now.
INT. INTERVIEW ROOM - LATE AFTERNOON (TODAY)
Speaking to a MAN via an INTERPETER, Peter uses his new iPhone to check the diary.
PETER: You've to file the papers on or before next Thursday, because the Chinese New Year holidays will begin from next Friday...
EXT. ROADS - LATE AFTERNOON (TODAY)
Seeing reflective facades of buildings, Peter reaches for his pocket to take out an old iPhone to take a photo. When he reaches his pocket again, he looks shocked.
PETER (V.O.): Oh! Where's my new iPhone?
After checking all of his suit pockets and his brief case, Peter heads back to a skyscraper.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): After the interview, I've gone to the toilet. I didn't leave anything solid there...
Thinking.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): I must have dropped it inside the Interview Room... Now is nearly 5.00pm.
Thinking.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I don't quite know the exact location of the Interview Room as I was led there. Let me find the anchor first.
INT. OFFICE RECEPTION - LATER (TODAY)
After finishing her phone conversations, the ANCHOR comes to Peter.
PETER: I believe I've left my phone inside the Interview Room. Could you please lead me there?
Anchor: I didn't notice anything left on the table.
They walk to the Interview Room.
Act 3
INT. INTERVIEW ROOM - LATER (Today)
A clean table. They focus on the floor. There, Peter sees his new iPhone on the carpeted floor.
ANCHOR: It's really there.
PETER: Yes, thank you so much!
ANCHOR: Yes, it's Friday late afternoon!
RETURN TO PRESENT
PETER (V.O.): I'm so glad that I didn't lose it or have to wait till Monday morning to get it back.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): I'm just too preoccupied.
