Act 1
INT. STUDY - NOON
Smart phone in hand, Peter sends a mail with an attachment.
PETER (V.O.): I've spent many hours studying the facts of this case to cook up with this draft.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Now, the ball is in the other court and I should reward myself to do what makes me happy.
SEQUENCE OF WHAT PETER LIKES TO DO
A. Around 1pm, Peter is swimming at the outer limit of the Gold Coast beach.
B. Around 2 pm, Peter is having fried rice and sipping ice coffee at a lakeside restaurant.
C. Around 3 pm, Peter parks his red coupe at the road adjacent to his NT home.
End Sequence
Act 2
EXT/INT. PETER'S NT HOME- AFTERNOON
Getting to the backyard, Peter hangs his wet red swimming brief on a papaya tree at a corner.
PETER (V.O.): The wind can't blow it away...I'm not sure about my swimming cap though.
Seeing a toy slide nearby, Peter washes and cleans it.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): It's too small for my children now.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): But I don't want to throw my memory away.
Peter puts his wet red swimming cap on its roof to dry.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Let me continue renovating my house.
SEQUENCE OF HOW PETER RENOVATES HIS HOUSE
A. Taking the stairs to the 2/F pent-house terrace, Peter washes it and sweeps it. In kneeling-squat position, he checks the drain at a corner.
B. Inside the pent house, Peter uses white adhesive to fix some peel-off wallpapers near the floor level. He does that in kneeling-squat position again.
END SEQUENCE
Finishing his work, Peter suddenly changes his facial expression.
PETER (V.O.): Oh, I've got excruciating knee pain, particularly in my left leg.
Rising carefully, Peter rests on a sofa.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): What's wrong? Have I injured myself?
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I've got many professional appointments in the coming fortnight. I've to travel and stand on my feet.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Meanwhile, I've to drive home. My red coupe's gear transmission is manual.
Phone in hand, Peter surfs the web.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Am I suffering from Osteoarthriitis? It's a wear-and-tear condition that occurs when the cartilage in my knees deteriorates with use and age.
Recalling.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): For the past couple of weeks, the number of hours I've spent in my NT home was unprecedented.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): And I'm already a senior citizen...
Looking rather depressed, Peter continues his research.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): It's said that knee pain responds well to self-care measures.
Holding the staircase handrail, Peter walks to the kitchen on G/F. He gets some ice from the fridge.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Yes, let me do icing. I also want to elevate my legs. Let me do that in the master's bedroom.
Holding the staircase handrail, Peter walks up to the 1/F slowly,
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I hope I don't need to walk with a stick. And I don't have a stick yet.
In bed, Peter does his self-care measures.
Act 3
EXT. ROADS - EVENING
Through traffic. Pressing the clutch with his left leg, Peter shifts the stick from 4th gear to 5th gear.
PETER (V.O.): The resting, icing and elevating were good.
INT. STUDY - LATER
Wearing knee protectors on both legs, Peter works on his laptop.
PETER (V.O.): It's evident that my knees have gone weak.
Peter surfs the web with his smart phone.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): It's interesting to find that swimming breaststrokes can cause swimmer's knee due to the stress of propulsive kicks.
Thinking
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Let me rest for a few days while continuing my self-care measures.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I now know what makes life easier - normal knees.
FADE OUT.
THE END
