"For You & Me!"

Peter Kam Fai Cheung SBS

I was invited to give guest lectures in Beijing University from May 31 - June 1, 2o17. During my stay in the University campus, I interacted with some of the Law Faculty's doctorate candidates. We cycled leisurely from spot to spot and I captured the mood with my iPad mini.

In my guest lectures, I shared my observations as to how students could play a role in the developing intellectual property economy, and to interface art, law and business in the Greater China context. I ended my lectures by showcasing the creativity in us, and encouraging my audience to do better than me. As an experimental singer-songwriter, I began my live performances with "For You & Me!" and then other numbers with themes on creativity, innovation and intellectual property.

Back in Hong Kong, I decided to re-record the soundtrack of "For You & Me!" in the afternoon of June 5, 2017. To make a difference, I used the cha-cha-cha rhythm for the first time. The music video with new footage inserted was published in the late afternoon.

It was 30 years ago that I ended my formal post-graduate legal education at University College London. I observe that there is at least some academic interest in investigating the historical development of the intellectual property economy. Let me document what I have witnessed in the past decades from domestic to international levels and do good for you and me!
