Stronger Than Ever

Yesterday, a friend of over 30 years had a chat with me. We have similar backgrounds and public sector career developments. I retired about a year earlier than him, but he resumed legal practice two years earlier than me.

I could have done the same but chose not to do so. It was my perfect marketing assumption that if I was to practise at all, I would not turn any of my customers away just in case there might be any perceived conflict of interest.

During my leisure years, I turned to do something that I had not done before. I would enjoy forgotten beauties around me, travel to places monthly and fill my websites with contents. Gradually, they have become my routines.

Deep down, I felt something was missing. My friend echoed that we wanted to be back to where we once belonged ie the main stream of legal practice. As self-employed barristers, our urge to deliver value is stronger than ever!
