FADE IN:
INT. SLEEPING ROOM - DAY
Upon waking, PETER crawls across his bed, gets his smart phone and checks messages.
PETER
(Voice Over)
Oh, a kind reminder to witness his
daughter's admission this morning.
I slept early last night to prepare
for that.
After responding, Peter lies back in bed, thinking.
PETER
(Voice Over)
Checking messages first thing in
the morning has been my routine.
FLASHBACK
INT. CLASSROOM - DAY (1972)
With a book in hand, a lady TEACHER talks. Peter (18), in white school uniform, listens attentively.
TEACHER
To digress a bit. When I was a student,
I'd immediately check something that I
knew I didn't know, even when I was in
bed.
PETER
(Voice Over)
I get your message. I like the keen
learning attitude.
INT. OFFICE - DAY (2011)
Peter, in business attire, is sitting at a big desk, talking to a WOMAN sitting opposite to him.
WOMAN
I get your message. Your responses
are always quick and you expect others
to do the same.
BACK TO PRESENT
INT. COURT - DAY
Crowded. Peter is among the audience. Roped lawyers submit before the Court.
PETER
(Voice Over)
I was particularly invited to witness
the proceedings. I must have played
a role in my former intern's career
development.
PETER
(Voice Over) (Continued)
It's good to be remembered, when
I'm still alive!
We hear: "...to admit you as a Solicitor of Hong Kong..."
EXT. HIGH COURT OPEN AREA - DAY
People wait to take photos with those in robes. Peter waits and takes photos. He then joins a small group and takes a selfie.
INT. STUDY - DAY
Holding handheld device, we see Peter editing some photos including the selfie and other videos with it. He then inserts subtitles to a video clip, beginning with "Congratulations! Well Done!" After watching the clip a couple of times, he exports it and looks pleased.
Returning to his computer desk, Peter types.
. PETER
(Voice Over)
If I want to send a message or clip,
I'd do it quick. It was pretty quick
for me to come up with the special
original music video. I also recall a
a long-forgotten song!
We hear a Bee Gees number:"...I've got to get a message to you, hold on, hold on..."
FADE OUT.
