Act 1
INT. DOG SPA, YUEN LONG - DAY (26 June 2026)
Modern. We see the world from a low angle. KAJI is occupying one of the six spa booths.
KAJI (V.O.): It's the first time we're here.
The PACK LEADER turns on the water.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): The sound is horrific. Where're the spa professionals?
PACK LEADER: On the eve of your 10th birthday anniversary, I'm going to serve you this time!
Kaji whines.
PACK LEADER: Enjoy it!
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): I prefer to stay dry.
Kaji whines again.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): I know later I've to endure the blow-dryer - it sounds like a thousand angry bees.
Act 2
INT. HOME - NIGHT (Yesterday)
Kaji sits at the dining table. She's wearing a gold paper crown and a pair of glasses.
KAJI (V.O.): I hate wearing such props.
Facing the wall, PETER is playing the Happy Birthday song on piano.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): He rarely does that.
On the table is a rectangular birthday cake. It features a fingerine Shiba Inu, resting on a blue sofa with other animal toys.
KAJI (V.O.) (Cont'd): The photo props are irrelevant to me.
The Pack Leader and the GANG point their handheld devices at Kaji.
PACK LEADER (to Kaji): Smile.
GANG MEMBER: She's not smiling. She doesn't like her hat and glasses.
PACK LEADER: Okay.
KAJI (V.O.)(Cont'd): That sounds good.
The Pack Leader takes away Kaji's props. Kaji smiles. We hear: CLICK, CLICK, CLICK.
We hear a voice from a CCTV camera: Don't block my vision.
The Pack Leader relocates the camera,
PACK LEADER: Can you see now?
VOICE (from CCTV): Yes.
PETER: Happy Birthday!
VOICE (from CCTV): Thank you.
PACK LEADER: Happy birthday girls! Let me serve the cake for our baby here!
Peter turns around and sees the 3-D replica of the fingerine Kaji, her favourite toys and her blue sofa.
PETER: It's an artistic work. Who arranged it?
PACK LEADER: It's from our birthday girl in Tokyo.
KAJI (V.O.)(Cont'd): I recognize the voice. It's from a Gang Member who loves me dearly.
PETER: She must be doing a good job as a prop artist.
The Pack Leader cuts a generous portion of the "sofa cushion" and puts it into Kaji's meal bowl.
KAJI (V.O.)(Cont'd): Is it edible?
PACK LEADR: For your 10th birthday anniversary!
Kaji takes a tentative bite.
KAJI (V.O.)(Cont'd): It's delicious!
Kaji's eyes go wide. Her boredom melts away, replaced by pure joy. She finishes the "sofa cushion" in a few bites.
KAJI (V.O.)(Cont'd): I forgive the spa, the hat and the glasses.
Kaji looks at the rest of the cake. She looks at the Pack Leader and the Gang.
KAJI (V.O.)(Cont'd): I miss the other birthday girl.
She looks back at the cake.
KAJI (V.O.)(Cont'd): Can I have some more?
Act 3
INT. HOME - NIGHT
Kaji rests on a massage chair, looking down at her blue sofa and her toy box.
KAJI (V.O.): Ten years. A decade of dignity. I now prefer to occupy the Pack Leader's massage chair.
Pausing.
KAJI (V.O.)(Cont'd): And last night - a cake that looked like me and furniture, and tasted like heaven.
Pausing.
KAJI (V.O.)(Cont'd): If this is 10, I'll take 20. I'll take 30. Just keep the sofa coming. And spare the spa, the hat and the glasses.
