FADE IN:
INT. DINNING HALL - NIGHT
Dozens of dinner tables dotted with people. We see the backdrop with "Intellectual Property Trading" in simplified Chinese characters. PETER, having exchanged name cards with the 1st GENTLEMAN in his 40s at a dinner table, begins to chat.
1st GENTLEMAN
... That's all I do as the General
Manager. I've heard of your name...
The 2nd GENTLEMAN in his late 40s and the 3rd GENTLEMAN in his late 50s approach and greet Peter.
2nd GENTLEMAN
(To the 3rd Gentleman)
Director Zhang pioneered the concept of
Intellectual Property Trading.
The 3rd Gentleman stares at Peter.
PETER
My vision now is to establish an Intellectual
Property-based capital market.
The 3rd Gentleman digests the message.
PETER
(Continues)
As you're the Chief Economist of
the Development Zone, you know
what I mean...
3rd GENTLEMAN
(Smiling enthusiastically)
We're old friends. We've a project with
a big bank. It should also be excited to
to hear that.
PETER
Let's work together and make it happen
then!
INT. EXHIBITION HALL - DAY
Booths all having "Intellectual Property" in their sign boards. Peter tours with a GROUP . We see auctions being taken place.
PETER
(sighing to the Group)
That's something that a US enterprise
would like me to collaborate with it
back in 2009!
Having taken some photos, Peter and the Group then proceed to engage personnel in booths with "Bank" or "Insurance" signs.
INT. CONFERENCE ROOM - DAY
Packed. The 2nd Gentleman acts as M/C.
2nd Gentleman
Our next speaker is Hong Kong's former
Director of Intellectual Property, Mr Zhang Jin-hui. He pioneered the concept of Intellectual Property Trading.
As Peter rises, all eyes focus on him. He goes up the stage swiftly, grabs a wireless microphone and begins to speak.
We see colourful texts, photos, and graphics on the huge screen as Peter speaks from unfixed positions. All eyes are busy, tracking either the content on the screen or Peter's demeanours on stage.
PETER
To conclude, my vision is to establish
an Intellectual Property-based capital
market in the Greater Bay Area. Let's
think SMART in the Chinese way and
begin with the end in mind!
We see and hear a big round of applause from the audience as Peter bows before leaving the stage.
Break. We see people approaching Peter, getting his name cards and taking photos with him very happily.
INT. RAILWAY STATION - NIGHT
A LADY in her 40s greets Peter.
LADY
I saw you at the Expo, but you're
having conversations with others.
PETER
(Nodding)
The Expo was great. Our mainland
counterparts act timely. I just help
Hong Kong as much as I could...
Entry to immigration gates separates them.
INT. BUS - NIGHT
We hear alerts. Peter checks his phone. We see Tencent News of Nov 7, 2018. And then an article with some featured photos. Two of which depict a-larger-than-life Peter, sharing a powerpoint slide captioned as "The Success Formula"
PETER
(Voice Over)
What a pleasant surprise that the media
would lend a hand.
Peter gets off the bus with the phone in hand, looking pleased.
FADE OUT.
