Mood Of The Moment

FADE IN:

.

INT. SLEEPING ROOM - DAY

Gentle door knocks. PETER wakes up and checks his smart phone. His wife is still fast asleep.

PETER (V.O.)

Oh, how rare to see my cool son

at Sydney posed on Facebook...

Belatedly, he thanks his peers

for their support in 2018...

Better late than never, Zeno!

Peter taps a couple of likes against the group PHOTOS posted.

PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd)

Well, I've too much screen

time.

Pausing.

PETER (V.O,) (Cont'd)

I've Monday Syndrome symptoms

too.

Gentle knocks at the door again.

PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd)

Yesterday, we woke up late.

Today, we've to struggle to

get up.

Pausing.

PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd)

I used to hold monthly

Monday meetings to

prevent the syndrome

for all. What a mockery!

Reluctantly, his wife gets up.

INT. CLUB HOUSE - DAY

Sitting on a sofa and flipping through pages of a newspaper, the headline of article catches Peter's eyes.

PETER (V.O.)

Oh, the acronym "IP"is

used - a common term

now.

Having read the article, Peter turns over a page.

PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd)

Good, an update on crypto-

currency-related issues...

Peter studies it, before flipping over the page.

PETER (V.O.) ) (Cont'd)

Well, an article on Greater

Bay Area opportunities.

As he reads it, Peter nods.

PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd)

Objective and insightful!

Pausing.

PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd)

My vision is to establish

an IP-based capital market

in the Greater Bay Area.

I'll help make the GBA

great!

Peter takes a look of his phone clock.

PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd) Great, let me accomplish daily missions first!

Peter rises and leaves.

INT. SWIMMING POOL - DAY

As Peter finishes doing his push-ups, the lighted time displays: "11:00".

PETER (V.O.)

See if I can push myself

to do 40 laps in 40 minutes.

Peter swims in a circular lane, watching the digital display after finishing each lap. It looks he is chasing those swimming ahead of him.

MONTAGE

A/ Finishing a lap in frog strokes, Peter notes the pool clock displaying: "11:10".

B/ Finishing another lap in free style, Peter notes the pool clock displaying: "11:20".

C/Finishing another lap in backstrokes, Peter notes the pool clock displaying: "11:30".

D/Finishing another lap in butterfly style, Peter notes the pool clock displaying: "11:40".

END MONTAGE

PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd)

Done! Mission accomplished.

My new record! I can now

do my own bonus laps

leisurely!

He does a few butterfly strokes before leaving.

INT. STUDY - DAY

Peter works behind his computer.

PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd)

Today is probably the

only week day that I

can work at my own

pace. I had better enjoy

the mood of the moment!

Pausing.

PETER (V.0.) (Cont'd)

As he brings up the past,

my son Zeno should be

in good mood.

Pausing.

PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd)

When I'm in bad mood

like this morning, I'd

simply stick to the present-

doing my chores, reading

the newspapers.

Pausing.

PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd)

When I'm not emotional

at all, I strategize for the

future.

Pausing.

PETER(V.O.) (Cont'd)

Sundays or Mondays are

quite neutral. It's the way

we choose to treat the

events of life that

determines whether

they're good or not!

Peter looks happy.

FADE OUT. The End
