FADE IN:

INT. CHA CHAAN TENG - DAY

PETER enjoys his Char Kway Teow. We hear the staff talking to each other: What will happen next? Perhaps Government will back down by 5 pm...

PETER (V.O.)

As the Authority has taken the U-turn, those answerable,

responsible or accountable

have to accept the political

responsibility to quit now or

later. No one is indispensable.

Pausing.

PETER (V.O.)

But unreasonable demands

that break society fabric

such as law and order can't

be conceded. Those breaking

the law have to accept the

consequences of their own

making.

EXT. CLUBHOUSE SWIMMING POOL - DAY.

Seeing a clock displaying 5 pm, Peter gets out from the pool and checks his phone.

PETER (V.O.)

No breaking news about

any resignations...help keep

protesters' momentum...

INT. STUDY - DAY

Peter taps a video clip on his phone screen. We hear indistinctly: There're no adults to lead our demonstrations. They don't care about our future...

PETER (V.O.)

No adults is a fact. Not

caring about the young's

future is their bias.

From the TV set, a BBC anchor reports: Many of the protesters are extremely young and are extremely angry. They're masked for fear of being identified.

PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd)

There're others hiding behind

technology, pouring out hate-

posts.

Peter sees a phone video clip.

PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd)

This one stealing the limelight

says he fears he may be

prosecuted again...

Pausing.

PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd)

Years or decades ago, who

hasn't been an angry young

man or woman at some

real or imaginary wrongs?

Pausing.

PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd)

The young can get angry

very quickly. They want

adventures and would

simply do what others

do. This's social psychology.

Pausing.

PETER (V.O.)

The angry young men

and women need help to

get out of the present

situation. So are those

in authority.

Pausing.

PETER (V.O.)

I believe all Hongkongers

are angry. All fear about

their present and future.

PETER (V.O.)

For those in authority, it's

the right thing to accept

the political responsibility

and step down rather than

to hold onto their residual

power. Such a move

should help all although

it would be against their

own interest.

Pausing.

PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd)

If they're that smart and

would act timely, they'd

have been able to control

the incident to become an

emergency and wouldn't let

it escalate into a crisis!

Peter sighs.

INT. DINING ROOM - NIGHT

Peter and his WIFE are having dinner, watching TV late news at the same time.

PETER

No resignation news yet.

FADE OUT.
