FADE IN.
INT.SLEEPING ROOM - NIGHT
Waking up, Peter grabs his phone to check time and sees 06:45.
PETER (V.O.)
Why did I wake up so
early on a Saturday
morning? Am I suffering
from some anxiety?
FLASHBACK
INT. STUDY - NIGHT
Door bell sounds. PETER opens the door for a TECHNICIAN (30s).
PETER (V.O.) Please check whether
my TV is out of order
or any of your company's
gadget is out of order.
The technician checks the connections.
TECHNICIAN
Oh, you've plugged one
cable in the wrong
modem hole...
The technician puts the cable in the right hole and immediately we see moving images and hearing sounds from the TV screen.
PETER
(Embarrassed)
Oh, that's the problem...
I called for technical
support and was
asked to disconnect
the cables to reset the
system...
The next moment. The images become still and there's no more sound.
PETER (Cont'd)
Oh, something's wrong.
That's why I sought
technical support in
the first place.
The technician nods.
TECHNICIAN
I'll replace the modem.
After the replacement, the TV becomes normal again. Peter signs something and sees the technician off.
PETER (V.O.)
Great! Another problem
solved, although I
can't go swimming
in the evening.
END FLASHBACK
Peter sees his WIFE is fast asleep.
PETER (V.O.)
Rather than lying in
bed awake, why don't
I go swimming now?
Reflecting.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd)
If I was in Japan,
it's already 07:45, as
I want more hours to
enjoy the day.
Peter gets out of bed.
INT. SWIMMING POOL - DAY
Pretty crowded.
PETER (V.O.)
I know it'll be more
crowded by 08:00 and
will be full by 09:00.
In a circular lane, Peter swims lap after lap with other elderly people.
INT. BATHROOM - DAY
Peter is bathing.
PETER (V.O.)
I believe I've already
released my tension.
I feel energizing!
INT. LIBRARY - DAY
Peter is reading a newspaper column.
PETER (V.O.)
Yes, some people are
conservative. Why?
They want to conserve
the good and great
that they've inherited
from the past.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd)
I feel mentally fit too.
EXT. MTR ESCALATORS - DAY
Teams of VOLUNTEERS solicit passers-by to buy flags. A VOLUNTEER (30s) puts a sticker on Peter's shirt as he donates. Peter checks the details.
PETER (V.O.)
Drawing kids' dreams.
My dream then was
become a bus driver -
a skilled and powerful
person who has control
over people's needs.
EXT. RESIDENTIAL ESTATE - DAY
RESIDENTS are going to a mall as Peter is leaving it.
PETER (V.O.)
I've already invested
in myself early in the
day.
INT. SLEEPING ROOM - DAY
Peter reclines in bed. We hear phone alarms. Peter's wife wakes up to grab her phone to stop it.
PETER (V.O.)
I've also become a late
sleeper recently. See
if I can readjust my
sleeping routine.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.)
I do enjoy this Saturday
morning...
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd)
When I was in my teens
one of my favourite
number was Sandpipers:
Come Saturday Morning.
Peter taps a few icons on the phone screen. We hear after a melodic musical instruction: Come Saturday Morning...
FADE OUT. The End
