  1. FADE IN

  2. Act 1

  3.

  4. INT. LIVING ROOM - 8:30

  5. Sunlight filters through the curtains. PETER scrolls through Facebook, pausing on a post about the Beatles.

  6. PETER (V.O.): In Beatles' " We Can Work It Out": The bridge ("Life is very short...") provides a reflective contrast to the upbeat verses and choruses.

  7. Pausing.

  8. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I'll attend Professor Chia-wei Woo's memorial service at HKUST this afternoon.

  9. Peter looks out of the window.

  10. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): After that, should I take the calculated risk of swimming in Silverstrand Bay, or play it safe by opting for a nearby public swimming pool?

  11. Pausing.

  12. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): My elder daughter's wedding banquet is scheduled for this Sunday in Busan, and my family and relatives are getting ready to fly out shortly.

  13. Having checked the temperature of his weather app, Peter packs his goggles, wetsuit, towel, and air buoy into a bag.

  14. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The bay water will still be cool, and I want to avoid catching a cold or any other issues.

  15. Act 2

  16.

  17. INT. SHAW AUDITORIUM - 14:45

  18. Entrance. Adorned with elegant floral arrangements.

  19. PETER (V.O.): Wow, unlike other funeral homes, the ambiance of this auditorium feels truly grand.

  20. Reception. Peter begins to write his condolence note; Chia-wei,...

  21. PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): I know he preferred his colleagues to call him Chia-wei rather than Professor Woo.

  22. Hall. A large image of Professor Chia-wei Woo is prominently displayed on a big screen.

  23. PETER (V.O.)(Cont'd): The same image is displayed inside the HKUST's Council Chambers.

  24. Peter observes the CROWD.

  25. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Many familiar faces. Since 2016, I've been volunteering my service to HKUST .

  26. Peter exchanges greetings with ANDREW and JOHN.

  27. PETER:...Two years ago, I had the chance to work alongside Professor Woo on a Committee dedicated to selecting HKUST's anthem...

  28. Noticing Professor LO waving at him, Peter makes his way over, taking a seat beside him.

  29. PROFESSOR LO: I was also a special adviser to the founding President...He was powerful.

  30. PETER: Two years ago, I was fortunate to work with him to select the anthem of HKUST...I admire his approach-the way he executes his vision with clarity and purpose.

  31. Peter's attention is drawn to a MAN seated at a Steinway & Sons piano, his fingers gliding effortlessly across the keys, filling the hall with music perfectly suited to the moment.

  32. PETER (V.O.): Who's he?

  33. Peter checks the memorial service program on live performance.

  34. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Prelude by Professor Woo?

  35. As the memorial service commences, a video tribute to Professor Woo is shown.

  36. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Ah, I see the image - it's Professor Woo, singing joyfully with the rest of us.

  37. MONTAGE OF OTHER PROGRAMS

  38. A. Moment of Silence. ALL stand.

  39. B. Remarks by PRESIDENT of HKUST. A passionate voice fills the air, rich with emotion.

  40. C. Eulogy by Council CHAIR. All listens intently.

  41. D. Note of Thanks by Family MEMBERS. Professor WOO shares vivid family stories.

  42. E. Farewell to the Digital Twin of Professor Chia-Wei Woo. A re-created Professor Woo speaks.

  43. END MONTAGE

  44. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The Memorial Service was unlike any I've ever attended - profound, moving and a fitting tribute to a life so beautifully lived.

  45. Pausing.

  46. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I must admit I've had to consciously fight the urge to clap between programs - it's a reflex I've struggled to suppress, even in such a solemn setting.

  47. Pausing.

  48. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The digital twin is technologically impressive and serves as a fascinating tribute.

  49. Recalling.

  50. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): But it lacks the full depth and authenticity of a real person. It isn't a true substitute.

  51. Pausing.

  52. PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): But who among us can live to eternity?

  53. Act 3

  54.

  55. INT. LIVING ROOM - 21:30

  56.

  57. Peter inserts an AI drawing titled: "A Bridge to Eternity..." to a draft on his laptop.

  58.

  59. PETER (V.O): The true measure of a life isn't in its length, but in the bridges it builds to eternity.

  60. Thinking.

  61.

  62. PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): Every lesson taught, every spark of innovation, every act of kindness is a stone in the bridge of eternity.

  63. Reflecting.

  64.

  65. PETER (V.O) (Cont'd): My bridge to eternity is paved with the stories I leave behind, the connections I forge, and the hearts I ignite.
