FADE IN.
Act 1
INT. SITTING ROOM - MORNIING
Tapping a video clip on his phone screen, PETER sees images of an old woman being rejuvenated.
PETER (V.O.): Oh, she's actually Ursula Andress - the first Bond girl in the film Dr No.
Recalling.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Who can forget the scene when she was rising out of sea in a white bikini with a diving knife in her hip?
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Later, she appears in the film The Blue Max. There was a sex scene.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): In the 1960s, she was a sex symbol. I've been keeping both films in the DVD format.
Recalling.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): How powerful is sex appeal!
Act 2
INT. SITTING ROOM - CONTINOUS
Peter continues to watch the video clip.
PETER (V.O.): Who's this other woman?
The images of an old woman change to a young beautiful girl like magic.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Oh, she's Olivia Hussey! How could I've imagined that she looks like that at old age?
FLASHBACK
INT. CINEMA - NIGHT (1969)
Franco Zeffrelli's version of Romeo & Juliet is being shown on screen. Peter (15) is watching attentively.
PETER (V.O.): Wow, the leading actress Oliver Hussey is so beautiful!
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I hope I could be as handsome as the leading actor Leonard Whiting.
Peter looks mesmerised.
RETURN TO PRESENT
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): It wasn't another ordinary love story.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I was studying English Literature. One of the works that I'd be examined was Romeo & Juliet.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Then, I could recite most of the Shakepearean lines.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): One line I always remember is: Violent delights have violent ends.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Yes, they're my teenage idols.
Reflecting.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Is youth a gift of nature? A great time for us?
Peter continues to watch the video clip.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Is he Alain Delon?
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): If I had seen any of Alain Delon's films before listening to Peter & Gordon's folk song 500 Miles, I'd have named myself as Alan, and not Peter.
Using his phone's selfie camera, Peter checks his own image.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Is age a piece of art?
Act 3
INT. SITTING ROOM - NIGHT
Peter checks another video clip on his phone screen.
PETER (V.O.): This clip begins with Alain Delon rather than Ursula Andress. The contents are the same.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The two versions were sent to me by different persons. They must be considered worthy of watching.
Reflecting.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Do they articulate the reality that both beauty and sex appeal are skin-deep and temporary?
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.): Is it a blessing or a curse for people to feel so deeply about celebrities? They're just good at acting or pretending.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Anyhow, the simple truth is that once youth leaves us, we'll never have anything associated with it again.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Time has a way of showing us its real power.
FADE OUT.
THE END
