Act 1
INT. BEDROOM - NIGHT
PETER slides to one side of the bed and then to the other.
PETER (V.O.): I haven't had any coffee today. I'm just too excited that swimming pools will reopen tomorrow.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I wonder whether I'd swim before or after driving my wife to work.
INT. BEDROOM - EARLY MORNING
Peter rolls over in bed.
PETER (V.O.): I think it's better that I only swim after I've driven my wife to work.
Peter sleeps again.
EXT. ROADS - MORNING
Peter is driving his wife.
Act 2
INT. HOME - LATE MORNING
Peter is packing his swimming gears.
PETER (V.O.): It's been months since I last swam. I prefer swimming to running as I began to feel joint pain.
Peter puts on his swimming brief.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I can't wait.
EXT. PUBLIC SWIMMING POOL - LATER
Arriving. Pretty quiet. Gates are closed.
PETER (V.O.): OMG! Still closed!
Peter reads a notice nearby.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd). Opening from April 2!
Peter sees SOMEONE arriving.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd). I heard from the news days ago that swimming pools are opening today.
Peter sees that Someone reading another notice at another spot.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Making me a fool on April Fools day! And. I'm not alone!
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Perhaps, this indoor-swimming pool has to make some arrangement.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): As I'm fully prepared, let me go to a public beach.
EXT. GOLD COAST - NOON
Peter arrives in his SMART car.
PETER (V.O.): Oh, there're vacant parking lots. Today isn't a holiday...
Peter then sees the nearby changing room is still being sealed off.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Oh dear, since I'm here, I'll get off to see if I could enter the beach...
Peter walks towards the beach.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): No luck. I don't want to breach the law.
Peter sees other VISITORS, carrying swimming gadgets.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Yes, we're April fools.
Smiling, Peter takes a selfie.
EXT. ROADS - LATER
Driving. Peter listens to the radio.
PETER (V.O.): Oh the Court has delivered its verdict on a high-profile case today.
Listening.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The Court has found that the case was proved beyond any reasonable doubt.
Listening.
'
'PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Oh, the defendants' defence was that they're just leading participants in the unlawful assembly out of Victoria Park to avoid overcrowding.
Smiling.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): The facts speak for themselves.
Act 3
INT. BEDROOM - NIGHT
Sitting in bed, Peter is reflecting.
PETER (V.O.): I know I lack the essential attributes as a politician.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I believe everything and trust everyone. I've my values and I tell the truth.
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Do I have to change my practice at least on April Fool's Day?
Pausing.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): I don't want to become the King of fools even for a day.
Pondering,.
PETER (V.O.) (Cont'd): Anyway, Happy April Fool's Day to me!
